The life cycle of a person is very precious just like life itself. The government has provided us adequate facilities and necessities which are essentials in taking good care of our lives as well as the others. That is why we have quite high standards for establishments like hospitals, clinics, birthing homes and other facilities which involve the securing human nature and safety. In this project we are to design a birthing home entitled A PROPOSED BARANGAY NAISUD THREE-BED CAPACITY BIRTHING FACILITIES.

A birthing facility/center is a home-like medical facility with a program of care designed in the wellness model of pregnancy and birth. It is staffed by nurse-midwives, midwives and/or obstetricians, for mothers in labor, who may be assisted by doulas or birthing coaches. Birthing facilities are primarily established to provide specialized birthing activity with or within hospitals which can be considered as an improved alternative.

The Municipality of Ibajay law makers want to provide Birthing Facilities on a corner lot that they own. The official title for the project will be A PROPOSED BARANGAY NAISUD THREE-BED CAPACITY BIRTHING FACILITIES. In the title itself it could support three beds in its labor and recovery rooms and should be provided with enough space for waiting area with regards to the family members and visitors.

Since the proposed project is an alternative for hospital needs especially the pregnant women of the municipality, it will be more accessible and has more strategic location. The proposed project is located at barangay Naisud, Ibajay, Aklan, which has a lot that is truly fit for the proposed establishment with enough parking areas and access for the persons with disability and pregnant women.

In this project, we are given guidelines by the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, BUREAU OF HEALTH FACILITIES AND SERVICES provided by the owner which is the municipality of Ibajay. The said statement of the guidelines involves dimensions for standard measurement of the space requirements and a sample plan. Primarily the project is envisioned as a clean and competent establishment described by the owner. Along with its physical plant requirements, there are other considerations to be viewed; environment that suggests a home like feature and atmosphere, safe and secured surroundings, location of equipments, sustainability and ease regarding the access into rooms.

Considering the birthing process, which is very sensitive and delicate, it is given that it should be away from the entrance where a lot of outpatients are present and in business areas. The provision of the NEO-NATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT in a birthing home is important for we are obliged to meet the needs of a newly born child and to be prepared in different situations.

THE ESTABLISHMENT WOULD BE A CLEAN AND SUSTAINABLE PLACE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AND THE NEWBORN TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT TREATMENT FOR WOMENS PREGNANCY TO BE AN ALTERNATIVE FOR THE BIRTHING ACTIVITIES OF THE NEAR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY HOSPITALS OF THE MUNICIPALITY. TO PROVIDE ALTERNATIVE FACILITIES (CONCERNED IN NORMAL WOMEN DELIVERY) SIMILAR WITH THE SURROUNDING HOSPITALS OF THE MUNICIPALITY. TO DESIGN/PLAN THE PROJECT WHICH PATIENTS CAN CONSIDER AS A HOMELY ENVIRONMENT BY MEANS OF AESTHETIC DESIGN AND COMFORTABILITY. TO PROVIDE EASY ACCESS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

If the women today have decided that they will welcome their children in a birthing facility rather than in hospitals, for sure they are very much aware and are having a good plan for their birth giving. Birth of a baby is a monumental event, and the choices of pregnant women make today could have a long-term impact on the life of their children. One of the many important decisions theyll have to make during your pregnancy is where will they give birth. The advantages of a birthing facilities/centre are: The atmosphere is more adaptable and home-like More encouragement or standard care from a doula Increased breastfeeding help and support Generally less expensive than a hospital birth Less infection risks Ran by licensed midwives Since the project, A PROPOSED THREE-BED CAPACITY BIRTHING FACILITIES, provides equipments that are similar with the hospitals, it has also more than enough services to offer, from the beginning of pregnancy up to the infancy of the child. The proposed establishment has services for the pregnant women under the bracket population of 1 and 2 and is not subsidy allocated by the municipality. It is accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth and the Department of Health (to which PhilHealth is an attached agency) monitors and analyses data.

A PROPOSED BRANGAY NAISUD THREE-BED CAPACITY BIRTHING FACILITIES, this project is envisioned to be an excellently clean and home-like oriented facility. With the continuous service of the midwives and doctors and provision of the architect, this proposed establishment may be concerned for more pregnancy educational seminars, trainings, recreations, health consulting and after birth child and mother monitoring. It will be as sustainable and productive as it can.Since the primary objective of the proposed establishment is to have a clean and home-like atmosphere for the pregnant women and newborn baby all throughout the pregnancy, birthing and infancy, it will hopefully decrease the mortality rate in the municipality (Mortality rate is a measure of the number of deaths). The Barangay Naisud three-bed capacity birthing facilities in the future will promote healthy lifestyle among Filipino Families of any level of community standing. It will continue on valuing the safety of the children especially the new born ones, the mother and of course the family.
