Her only medications are a brand-name levothyroxine preparation and insulin Aspart via an insulin pump. A recent TSH was within normal limits. A thyroid ultrasound reveals heterogeneous consistency of the right lobe and upper left lobe with a 3.5 X 3.4 X 2.8-centimeter hypoechoic nodule with what appear to be microcalcifications in the lower left lobe.
