The year I joined Twitter, bought the first iPhone in the Tri-Cities & no one cared.

Beyond Social...

Facebook - Foursquare - Twitter - Noise!!! What the heck do we do now?! Thats my father-in-law, he has a Facebook account, so does my 13 yr old nephew & my aunt & dad were talking on Twitter this morning!

Good & BadGood news & bad news... Good, more people are online - 845 million users on Facebook Dec 2011 - Bad news, how do you innovate & use these tools when people keep flipping around. Pinterest has 10 million users. Guess who had around 10million users back in 2007? FB

3 things to get beyond...

Plans suck...People Rock!

1. Get beyond your plans. Bristol Tweetup - One lowly blogger started a tradition that now extends to every track in NASCAR, w driver appearances, celebrities, etc. Stop building social media plans that wont see the light of day & find people to monitor, create & respond.

Big is slowSmall is fast!

2. Lets get beyond the big boys. Yes Facebook, Twitter & others are killing it. But buy decisions are made on smaller sites every day. Yelp.com Groupon.com LivingSocial.com

Mobile, Mobile, Mobile!Tell me why this is bad. We must get beyond the big screen. Responsive web design, etc. Don’t interrupt me to tell me to get the app, i just want info. CBS is quite bad at this.

Finally... back to people (or a person)

Media War Rooms - set up Facebook check in alerts, foursquare mayorship deals, Twitter search via zip code, etc.
