Aberdeen Milestones Grill & Bar

Milestones Grill & Bar — the place

where everyone feels comfortable.

Enjoy the intimacy of your dining experience in the comfort of a cozy booth, or at the bar, watching the game on one of our many flat-screens with a cold pint in hand. No matter what the occasion, you’ll always feel like you’ve

come to the right place.

Year long, the menu at Milestones is a labour of love and seasonal inspi-ration — bright spring foods, fresh summer salads, savoury autumn soups and warm winter dishes.

Milestones’ wine list is filled with a wide selection of regional and imported red and white wines to suit any occasion. Come in on Wednesdays and receive $5 off any bottle.

The restaurant’s signature drink is the Bellini — a sangria-topped frozen sen-sation with a cool blend of white rum, peach liqueur and champagne — cheers.

Downtown Jay’s Good Eats

“Good Eats” might be an understatementJay’s Good Eats is

a new downtown diner that’s been getting great reviews. Unless Jay’s growing number of customers are all “out to lunch,” the fare is excep-tional.

Jay serves gourmet burg-ers, paninis, soups, salads and wraps — generous portions, fresh and hot. If

you’re in a hurry, phone ahead and your order will be ready when you arrive.

Jay’s Gourmet Burger is 100 per cent AAA Cana-dian beef served with let-tuce, tomato, pickle and red onion on a brioche bun. Fries? Of course, and plenty of them.

You’ll want to try The Big Bob, stuffed with red wine-braised beef short ribs with aged white cheddar and bacon. Jay’s “Good Eats” might be an understatement.

Also on the menu are gourmet premium dogs on premium buns, Jay’s own house-baked pies and muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, mac and cheese, and more.

Jay’s Good Eats is in the foyer of 340 Victoria St. and open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Stout House Salad Bar & GrillSahali

It has been an excit-ing two years for the

Stoughton family since opening the Stout House Salad Bar and Grill in Fortune Centre.

The restaurant (in the for-mer Mr. Mike’s) celebrates its second anniversary in April. Its success is due to many factors— the house-cut sirloin and New York steaks, handmade 100 per cent Angus beef burgers, wraps, sandwiches, house-made lasagna, spaghetti, pork schnitzel, chicken pot pie, caesar dressing and,

the ever-popular salad bar.

The Stoughton family has lived in Kamloops for decades and knows what their fellow Kamloopsians appreciate: burgers served with fries, onion rings or salad; certified Angus burger on a toasted po-tato Kaiser bun; and big, sirloin-steak sandwiches — seven or 10 ounce cuts. The Stoughtons designed their menu to suit all ages, palates and preferences so you’ll always have other items to try on your next visit.

North Shore Szechuan Restaurant

If you’re looking for traditional Chinese

food with a kick of heat, you’ll find it all at the Szechuan Restaurant.

Open since May 2012, when you step into Szech-uan Restaurant, you’ll feel like you’re right there in China taking in the sights and sounds of the country.

Szechuan Restaurant steers away from the more common Western-style Chinese food and serves up traditional Szechuan and Cantonese-style cui-sine. Szechuan province in Chinese, where the food takes its inspiration

from, is known for its spicy cuisine and all of the dishes have proven to be popular at the restaurant.

The restaurant is also proud to use authentic Chinese vegetables, some of which cannot be found in any grocery store and are shipped in special just for their dishes.

They have dim sum and serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are open for dinner from 4 to 11 p.m. Take out and delivery service is also available if you’re looking to have an Asian feast at home.

Fiesta Mexicana Restau-rante, which opened in

early 2011, brings the au-thentic taste of the Mexican kitchen to Kamloops.

Wedged into a commercial warehouse space on Notre Dame Dr., you get the feel-ing that you have truly been transported to Mexico for the duration of your meal.

With Spanish music in the background and the sooth-ing sounds of a waterfall feature in the Spanish-style courtyard, the sights, sounds and flavors of Mexico tempt all the senses.

Patrons rave about the qual-

ity of food and describe it as some of the best Mexican cuisine in Western Canada.

The taste and flavour has much to do with local res-taurantuer Rodd Cruikshank’s commitment to prepare everything in-house, from scratch.

It is because of this commit-ment to quality that Fiesta Mexicana was chosen to be featured this winter on the Food Network’s TV show “You Gotta Eat Here” — one of only a handful of restaurants in all of West-ern Canada. Come see for yourself!

Nando’sSahali

The Nando’s PERi PERi story began in the 15th

Century, in the rich soils and intense heat of South Africa. Many centuries ago, our Portuguese forefathers set sail for new lands, and after months on the high seas they were called ashore by the winds of East Africa.

Here they were introduced to the fiery little African Bird’s Eye Chilli which we now know as PERi PERi. A spice like no other, it put fire in their bellies and ignited passion in their hearts. To this chilli, they added a handful of herbs, a squeeze of fresh lemon and a touch of garlic. Their love for life, friends, fun and

good food created the first great taste of PERi PERi sauce, and today the inspi-ration for our restaurants.

Nando’s own PERi PERi recipe remains a closely-guarded secret, but it’s no secret that we give each of our guests the same great PERi PERi taste and tradi-tion of great hospitality. Whether it’s flame-grilled to order, as a breast filet in a Portuguese bun, pita or wrap — whether seasoned with lemon and herb for the less spicy, medium for the more adventurous, or hot and extra hot for those with savvy reckless bravado — you always get to choose the baste for your own taste.

Valleyview Arby’s

It all began with Arby’s Roast Beef Sandwich.

Since 1964, we’ve been doing it the same way. Our roast beef is slow- roasted in our stores for three hours every day and freshly sliced daily.

What could make our signature sandwich even more delicious? Why, warm cheddar cheese sauce and zesty red ranch on a toasted onion roll. If you’d like hot turkey

rather than roast beef, take a bite of our Turkey ’n Cheddar Classic.

Didn’t think it was possible to amp up our Beef ’n Cheddar sandwich? Neither did we until we put some pepper bacon on it and the Bacon Beef ’n Cheddar was born.

Prepared fresh when you order, this sandwich is made with Arby’s® famous thinly sliced roast beef and slow-roasted to perfection. Then we

add melted Swiss cheese and put it all

on a warm, authen-tic Italian style sub. Dip it in our hot, savory au jus and

take the flavor to a whole new level.

Fresh sliced meat all begins with the slicer.

We’ve been obsessed since 1964 with slicing our meats fresh each day because that’s how we preserve the flavour and freshness. Meat should be sliced by a person in the store each day, not by a robot in a distant factory.

The difference is in the fresh taste of every Arby’s sandwich.
