Mr. Benton

Page 2: Benton Classroom Exp

I am glad to have each one of you in my class!

My goal is that by the end of the year, you WILL

- Pass this class and get a year’s worth of credits for chemistry

- Pass the TAKS science test

Even though WE WILL struggle at times, if you follow all the rules and procedures, I will do my best to make sure you are successful. If we all work together, you will be amazed at what you can achieve!

Classroom Procedures

Entering the Classroom

Sit in your seat and begin working on the warm-up.

You must be in your seat before the tardy bell rings.

Page 8: Benton Classroom Exp

Sharpening a pencil

You may use the hand sharpener in your table’s supply box.

- Empty it into the garbage bin

The electronic pencil sharpener is to be used either before class starts or when given permission and not when I am not talking/giving instruction.

Tardy to class

Once the bell rings, you are TARDY!! You will sign the Tardy book placed at the front of the classroom.

If you have an excuse for being tardy, then you can leave the pass on my desk and go to your seat quietly, without disrupting others.

Group work

Your group will consist of 3-4 students, and each student in your group will have a different job whenever you are asked to complete projects.

All group work will be done within your assigned table group. Again, each person will have a specific job for projects and labs.

Progress reports

You will receive a progress report on the 3rd week of the six weeks. If you are missing assignments or have any questions, you must ask when you get the progress report, so we can take care of it before the trimester ends.
