How do we actually ‘realise’ these benefits (both short-term and longer-term) ?

Consider this quote from JISC Institutional Innovation Programme:

Benefits realisation activities are focussed on the validation and transfer to non-native institutional contexts, and building upon outputs developed by innovation projects in order to embed them in their intended (and other) communities, thereby helping to ensure that they are useful, usable and used by users. This requires a good understanding of target stakeholder groups and a need to engage these groups early

in the process.

The benefits realisation activities will involve two “stages” of activities.

Stage One – project anchored

The first stage (Phase 1x) will engage• individual projects OR clusters of projects within or across

thematic areas;• key stakeholders and national bodies across the sector;• institutions external to the programme (non-natives);

to collate and package outputs, build capacity in the sector and validate outputs in non-native institutions

Stage two – anchored in non-native institutions and stakeholder communitiesThe second stage (Phase 2x) will seek to build on the success of the projects and the stage one benefits realisation activities, by inviting non-native institutions and stakeholder bodies to engage with a selection of the most successful/promising/mature ideas emerging from the Institutional Innovation programme.

Three categories of benefits realisation:

1. Synthesis / packaging2. Capacity building3. Increase uptake

What should we do ???????
