Guide to Safe Scouting

• Two Deep Leadershipo Two registered adult leaders, or one

registered adult and a parent of a participating Scout, one of whom must be 21 years of age. Coed overnight activities require male and female adult leaders.

• Monitor Behavioro Adult leaders of Scouting units are

responsible for monitoring the behavior of youth members.

• Male and Female leaders o must have separate sleeping facilities.

Married couples must have appropriate facilities.

• Male and Female youth o participants will not share the same

sleeping facility.• Adult & Youth sharing a tent

o are only permitted for Parent or Guardian.

Guide to Safe Scouting

• Drugs and Alcoholo BSA prohibits the use of alcoholic

beverages and controlled substances.• Firearms

o are prohibited during any Scouting activity.• Flames in Tents

o Never use stoves, heaters, lanterns, candles, matches and other flame sources in or near tents.

Council / Camp Policies

• Motor Vehicleso Vehicle must be properly licensed and

insured.o Drivers must be licensed and 18 YOA.o Passengers must wear a seatbelt.

No riding in the back of trucks.o Speed Limit – 10 MPH

• Pets are prohibited• Sheath Knives are prohibited

Parking at camp

• Please do not park on the side of the road.

• Drop your gear off and move your vehicle to a designated parking area.

• After all it is an outdoor program.

General Information

• BSC consists of 286 acres.• The camp is divided into two areas,

o Cub Scout area, ando Boy Scout area.

You’re welcome to visit both.

• The camp supportso Cub Scoutso Webeloso Boy Scoutso Other council programs.

• General open June 1st to Sept 30th • Daytime hours only “No Lights”• 60 feet wide by 75 feet long• 3 ½ feet to 6 ½ feet deep• No diving allowed• Some pool toys are available• A small “Pool Canoe” is available• Berry Shelter

Departing camp…

• Be sure your campsite is clean• Be sure Fires are out and cold• Check Service Project Assignment• Get campsite inspected• Check-out at the office• Return all equipment• Return safely
