I‟m excited about the opportunities of sowing the Gospel Seed in Capital City Baptist Association during Missions Spectacular (6/5) and World Changers (6/21-25). Both of these June events, two VBSs and a Basketball Camp along with your faithful daily missions will scatter the Gospel Seed far and wide. But look, there‟s more! Nine more VBSs in July, and BYBC in August. WOW! I‟m confident there is a whole host of scattering possibilities available to each of you that I don‟t know about. Let‟s not forget a car is a vehicle to get us to a destination. Duh! Also let‟s not forget that Missions Spectacular‟s prayer walking, Kid‟s Clubs, Sports Camp, Construction jobs, Nursing Home and poverty ministries, World changers installing new roofs, new siding and new handicapped ramps, VBSs, BYBC, and Basketball Camp are all vehicles to scatter the Gospel Seed. We are being and doing exactly what we should when we scatter the Gospel Seed. You might think the boat has sailed and you missed it. Never! You can still be involved in Missions Spectacular. Your church can still help in serving lunches for World Changers and I‟m sure your church will need your help in VBS. Remember you are never more like Jesus then when you are scattering the Gospel Seed! As the Cajun Justin Wilson use to say “I gar on tee” if you want to scatter seed I can find a field for you. You can do it with God and we can help. May I introduce you to the new pastor of Living Faith Baptist Church, Kenny Kidd. He has served as the Pastor of First Baptist Church Logan, Ohio since 2003. He also served as youth and interim pastor there since 1996. Kenny was born in 1974 and is a native of Miamisburg, Ohio and has been married to his wife, Melissa for almost 12 years. Kenny and Melissa met each other during their time in school at Ohio University and through their involvement in the ministry of Baptist Student Union. The Kidds are the proud parents of David (age 7), Anna (age 4), and Jonathan (age 2). Kenny enjoys sports and especially baseball, basketball, and football. Kenny received a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Ohio University. He also earned a Master of Public Administration from Ohio University. He is currently working toward a Master of Arts in Leadership from Luther Rice Seminary, a Southern Baptist school in Lithonia, Georgia. Kenny has led FBC Logan in Awana, Youth ministry and preparation for North America and International mission trips. The Kidd family will be on the field mid July.
