Beech House Newsletter Friday 10 th March 2017 Last Friday Year 1 had a fabulous day at Knowsley Safari Park looking at all sorts of creatures from giraffes to cockroaches! They have been very busy this week finding out more about the animals that they saw and handled! This week Years 1 and 2 have also been on a ’Google Expedition’. All the children went over to Park Road (an adventure in itself!) where they were able to explore ‘Space’ as well as the Great Barrier Reef using the latest technology with the Google team. Staff News

We have two lovely pieces of staff news this week. Firstly, we are delighted that Mrs Mees has been appointed as Deputy Head on a permanent basis and we are also very pleased to let you know that Mrs Brookes is expecting her first child in the Summer. She is planning to be with us as long as possible in the summer term and we will let you know in due course who will be taking over from her.

Girls’ Division PA Plant sale

Each year the Girls’ Division PA arranges a plant sale via a local nursery and offer a stunning array of bedding plants, vegetables and amazing hanging baskets, all at favourable prices. For those of you who haven’t ordered before, the process is very straightforward; orders are placed and paid for before the end of this term and the plants are collected from the car park at Beech House on Saturday 13 May. Email confirmations of orders are sent out as acknowledgements and then fairly early on Saturday 13 May text messages will be sent to you when your order is ready for collection. You don’t even need to have green fingers to support the sale as there is a superb range of hanging baskets on sale that represent fantastic value for money and are extremely colourful. The full list is set out on the attached order form and if you have any questions then please contact Amanda Valentine who will be happy to help.

After the Easter holidays the Children will be wearing their summer uniforms and so this is an ideal opportunity to check sizes and stock up on those items. If you have any good condition out-grown uniform we would be very grateful if you bring it into school so that we can resell it (we especially require blazers and school dresses). We are presently considering having a sponsored adult bike ride in the summer term (ending at school with a fun event for the whole family) and would like to gauge the level of interest. If you think you may be interested in joining in could you please email Mrs Gore.

Thanks The Parents’ Association
