Christmas in July Many kids don’t have supplies to start the new school year and you can choose an angel in the narthex on July 22 and shop for their supply list. Bring supplies to the Chapel Narthex by July 29. Benefits Harvest Hands, Franktown Open Hearts, United Way of Williamson County, and other organizations helping children. Sonshine Choir Home ConcertSunday, July 22, 7 pm, SanctuaryOur Sonshine Choir toured to Chicago July 13 - 21. While on tour, sang in churches, retirement homes, facilities for the mentally, physically and emotion-ally challenged, children’s day camps and juvenile detention centers. Come hear the Sonshine Choir in a Home Concert as they share their experiences with their church family.
Construction has begun on the Billy Jim Vaughn Boy Scout Memorial Park across from the entrance of the Turner Discipleship Center. The small park honors Billy Jim Vaughn, longtime Scout Master of Troop One, and the scouting ministry of BUMC.

BUMC Concert Series Presents the Maryland State BoychoirSunday, August 5 - 8:30 and 11:00 am worship choir, 2:00 pm concert, NarthexThis superb choir will be presenting this concert as a part of its week-long tour. They will perform a wide variety of choral music, from sacred masterworks to gospel. The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be received.
Host Homes Needed for the Maryland State BoychoirSaturday, August 4The Maryland State Boychoir will be arriving in Brentwood on Saturday, August 4, and will be in need of host homes for the night. “Play and Learn” Begins Monday, August 6, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This is a beginning Bridge class designed by Pat Harrington and taught by Donna Young (Vanderbilt Bridge Club of Nashville). Learn the basics of bridge. Each lesson includes hands to play and a take-home summary. Cost for 10 lessons -- $85.
Series II of “Planning to Win” Begins Friday, September 7, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Covers discarding losers, trumping, dummy points, Stayman convention and more. Cost -- $70 materials for 8 classes.

Foundation Scholarship Recipients The Brentwood UMC Foundation is pleased to announce the following winners of
its 2012-2013 scholarships: Mallory Glasgow, Jennifer Johnson, Sara Rains, Kath-erine Schenck. The BUMC Foundation awards four scholarships each year to active members of BUMC. At least three of the renewable scholarships go to graduat-ing high school seniors and the fourth is available for college students returning for graduate studies. The BUMC Foundation provides a permanent and ongoing source of funding to ensure the continued work of BUMC. For more information on the BUMC Foundation, please contact Lisa Gray at extension 201.

Better Decisions Mentors: A Rewarding Experience for Women Better Decisions, a nonprofit organization that teaches decision-making skills to inmates
at the Tennessee Prison for Women, needs volunteers for the next “Better Decisions” class. Mandatory training weekend is September 8 & 9 (9-4 on Saturday, 1-5 on
