Student-Centered Learning

In today’s world you can ‘Google’ almost all factual knowledge but you cannot ‘Google’ good judgment, wisdom, creativity and innovation, leadership and communication skills, team-working abilities, or the values that underlie ethical decision making. Tolerance for ambiguity, embracing diversity of thought, and culture are not learnt on the Internet. They are learnt through extensive practice, inquiry and reflection, and the application of sound principles that rest on strong, tested, conceptual foundations and evidence. Much of the ‘knowledge creation’ at JSBF takes place in the classroom through concentrated interaction between our faculty – who are well-grounded in both research and practice – and our B.Com. (Hons.) students who are preparing to be the global leaders of tomorrow in banking, finance, accounting, commerce and entrepreneurship, and “hands-on” practice in the field.

Of course, there is hard work and there are sleepless nights. But there is also fun. Alongside academics, the University offers a range of opportunites to pursue co-curricular activities. I get to play basketball, something I am drawn to do, daily. In addition, the residential nature of the University has made me more independent. The best part is the opportunity to interact with students from different parts of the country and make freinds. All this is helping me to grow as an individual.

There are new challenges every day at JSBF – something that I really love and thrive on. The best thing here is the range of opportunities you get to develop yourself. This helped me to groom myself the way I wanted. The professors here are our teachers and mentors. They have helped me to gain knowledge, imbibe important skills like time management, and understand the value of responsibility. The University provides every possible opportunity for career development. Last, but not the least, are the student fests - something each of us eagerly look forward to.

Some would say if you are joining a newly launched course, then you are taking a risk. But after taking admission in O.P. Jindal Global University for the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) course, I can say for sure that this was the best decision for me. The world-class facilities and the highly accomplished faculty team really help you to extend your horizons. Faculty members work tirelessly to help each student at the individual level. They actively encourage you to become the kind of person you want to be in life. I had access to world-class education, and I could also gain from exposure through various co-curricular activities. I am sure I will be able to bring out the best in me here at the University.
