Battlefield Boogie Club The Bugle CREATE DANCE HISTORY CREATE A MEMORY President’s Letter… Audrey Borja Fredericksburg, Virginia November/December 2014 Vol 9 No. 6 So, here we are in November, where does the time go. Our sea- sons seem to quickly come and go and we are now gearing up for the most festive time of year. I just put away the scare crows and am getting ready to pull out the turkey platter. But, we are having fun, right! Our dances and friendships provide the fuel to power us up. What would we do without these critical parts of our lives? We had a great summer with our dances both local and all up and down the east coast. We learned some new footwork and shared time with old and new friends. It doesn’t get any better than that! As we go into winter, we have the SOS mid- winter to look forward to in Myrtle Beach. This is a good time to go down when it is not quite as busy as spring and fall. I hope you can plan to give it a try if you have nev- er been. It is a nice break from the cold and post holidays. No bad moods allowed. Also, you know there are many opportunities in our local area to dance, to see bands and hear our great DJs. Keep an eye on our admission table at Shannon’s on Thursday nights to see what is going on in and around town. We actually have some sur- prises coming up for our BBC so stay tuned and come out and join us so you won’t miss anything. We are so happy with our new mem- bers joining us. Thanks to every- one, our Thursday nights have been full of fun and high spirits. We are the best, e v e r… We are still pushing to have 100 or more members by the end of the year…so if you can, bring some new folks to try us out. They may join and you will be recognized for helping us meet our goal! Our next big event on our calendar is our Christmas party on December 11 at the Hospi- tality House Washington ballroom. We are planning to have a big dance floor and lots of good food and flare. So plan to join us. There is so much to look forward to. It has been my pleasure this year and many other years over the 10 years, to be your Presi- dent. But, we all need breaks and for 2015, I will be stepping down from the President’s seat and take that break. Although I will not be as visible, there are some very ca- pable folks that will be filling the BBC management roles. The BBC will remain strong and vibrant! Even though I will not be serving in the leadership capacity, my pas- sion and seasoned support of the BBC will continue. So, everyone embrace your strengths and keep the ball rolling. Love your family and friends and cherish your times together. I will see you at the dance lessons, on the floor and in my heart of hearts. Big hugs to everyone and let the good times roll! So, here we are in November,

where does the time go. Our sea-

What would we do without these

Battlefield boogie club’s Halloween party was filled with Lots of fun monsters, ZOMBIES, and weird HAPPY creeps that shagged the night aWAY… By Don Borja

You wonder how so many creepy people could have so much fun! Maybe it was our guest dj ,Butch adeimy , with his fantastic Carolina shag blues music that got things started on a roll. Then again, I Don’t know if it Was the spirits floating in air or the spirits in our ghoulish drinks on the table filled with chilling ice. Who knows...maybe it was a 100% proof. But for sure, it was a 100% fun. Jewell Pradier our infamous zombie line dance instructor led the dance “thriller” on the floor and got everyone fired up in the grave-yard. As a matter in fact, she cast a spell on all of us To dance the night away. she also won most of the prizes and games except for a scarecrow (Cathy Doggett) who no body could guess who it was until late into the evening. Jewell & Cathy shared the spoils in the costume contest. Cathy Donated her money prize back to the club. There were no other lucky ducks...or should I say ,only a lucky zombie with a terrific shagoween spell and a scarecrow who kept us out of the pumpkin patch most of the evening.
