2. INSTALLATION OF THE „CM2024 LOGGER“ SOFTWAREAftertheoperatingsystemhasbeenfullyloaded,startinstallationofthesoftwareandfollowtheinstructionsoftheinstallationprogrammeoryour operating system.

Note: Beforeconnectingthe„ChargeManager2024“tothecomputer,alwaysinstallthedriversoftware(„SiliconLabsCP210xUSB-UART

Bridge“)accordingtotheinstructionsoftheinstallationprogramme. Thelatestdriverversioncanbefoundunderhttp://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspxAftercompletionofthesoftwareanddriverinstallation,connectthe„ChargeManagerCM2024“toafreeUSBportofyourcomputerwithasuitableconnectioncable.ThechargerhasaUSBinterfaceforthis(USB-Bsocketattherearofthedevice).Windowsrecognisesthenewhardwarewhenitisconnectedforthefirsttimeandcompletestheinstallationoftherequireddrivers.IntheWindowscontrolpanel,youcancheckinthedevicemanagerwhichCOMporthasbeenawardedtothe„ChargeManager2024“(e.g.„COM7“,seearrowinthefollowingfigure).

Now software installation has been completed.

3. GETTING STARTEDAtthefirststartofthesoftware,youneedtoselecttheCOMportofthe„ChargeManager2024“accordingtotheentryinthecontrolpanel(inthisexample„COM7“.

Thissettingcanbechangedunder„Settings/COM-Port“later.Afterconfirmingtheselectionwith„OK“,themainwindowofthesoftwareappears.

Byclickingthebutton„StartLogging“(upperleft),recordingofthedatawillbestarted(thebuttonswitchesitscolourfromredtogreenandthelabelswitchesto„stoplogging“).

Thechargermustbeinoperation,i.e.thedisplaylightingofthe„ChargeManager2024“ison.Toterminatedatarecording,clickthebuttonagain.Thecolourchangesbacktored(andthelabelofthebuttonbackto„StartLogging“,seeabove).

Ifnodataarerecordedbythechargerformorethanapprox.10secondsbecause,e.g.,theconnectiontothechargerhasbeendis-connected,theprogrammewillautomaticallyinterruptdatarecording.Continuationoftherecordingispossible.

4. OPERATION OF THE SOFTWAREView during data recording:

1 Load,saveandimportrecordingsfromcard2 SettingtheCOM-port/displaybrightness.TerminatingtherecordingontheSDmemorycard3 ExporttoExcelor„CSV-file“4 View: Chart and/or table5 Print measuring log6 Delete recording7 Automatic display of the last measured value in the table8 Display for data reception from the charger9 Display of the recorded data in table form. The data transfer to other programmes via the clipboard is supported.10 Curves of voltage and current. grammeinputisshownafterclicking.The„Stop“symbolorright-clickcancelstherunningchargeprogramme.

General Notes:• Therecordeddataarealwaysputininterimstorageinparalleltothedisplayinthetemporaryfilesaswell.Iftherearetemporaryfilesatprogrammestart,theprogrammeofferstocontinuetherecording.

• Whenremovingarechargeablebatteryduringtherecording,theassociatedvaluesareautomaticallydeleted.Thisensuresdataintegrity.• Theexportfunctionsfor„Excel“and„CSV“referonlytothecurrentlychosenchargingslot.• Theprintfunctionisnotavailableduringdatarecording.• Thechartsareprintedoutasshowninthesoftware.Thismeans:Ifacut-outhasbeenenlarged,theoutputtakesplaceinthisenlargedviewaswell.Insertionofatitlelineunderindicationofthebatteryslotnumber,duration,charginganddischargingcapacitytakeplaceautomatically. The recommended print format is DIN A4 or DIN A3.

• Loadingandsavingdatavia„File“->„LoadLoggedData“or„SaveLoggedData“referstothedataofallbatterychutesofthe„ChargeManager 2024“. The temporary data are overwritten in „Load Logged Data“.

• Theprogrammeensuresuninterrupteddatarecordingbydeactivatingtheenergysavingsmodeofthecomputerduringtherecording.

5. STARTING CHARGING PROGRAMMES

Ifoneorseveralrechargeablebatteriesareinserted,theparameterdisplayshows„NoSetup“.Theparametersetupofthebatteryslotwhereprogrammeinputispossibleisdisplayedinblue.Afterclickingtheparameterdisplay,thechar-ge programme input is now displayed. The parameters suggested by the charger are displayed and can now be changed. Afterclicking„Start“,thechargingprogrammeisexecuted.

Ifthechargingprogrammeisstartedatthechargerinthemeantime,itwillbeexecutedwiththeparameterschosenatthecharger.Then the active programme input in the PC software is concealed after starting.

6. CANCELLING CHARGING PROGRAMMES

Thecurrentprogrammeofthechargingslotcanbecancelledviatherespective„stop“symbolorbyrightclickonthebatteryslotdisplayandthefinalconfirmationof„CancelProgramofSlotx“.

7. SAVING/LOADING RECORDINGS

ThechargecurvescanbesavedontheSDmemorycardand/orthePC(„SaveLoggedData“). WhensavingonthePC,itmustbecontinuallyconnectedtothechargerandtherecording(„Logging“)mustbeactive.

IfthechargingcurveshavebeenrecordedontheSDmemorycard,thedatacanonlybereadviaacardreaderatthePCsubsequently(„ImportLogFilefromSDCard“).Itisalsopossibletoloadthesavedrecordsagainwiththissoftware(„LoadLoggedData“).

8. USE OF THE WINDOWS CLIPBOARDInadditiontotheexportfunction,thereisalsotheoptionofexportingtherecordeddataviatheWindowsclipboardintoanyspreadsheetprogrammes,suchas„LibreOffice/OpenOffice“.Procedure:1. Selecttherequiredcellsinthetable2. Right-clickingthetableshowsthefollowingdialogue: „Copy To Clipboard“ copies the selected area or „Copy All...“ copies the entire active table

into the clipboard. Alternatively,thereisalsotheoptionofsavingselecteddataby„CTRL+C“(Copy).3. Thesedatacanbedirectlytransmittedtothetargettableby„CTRL+V“(insert).

9. DISPLAY OPTIONSUnder„DisplayStyle“,youcanselecttherequireddisplay.If„Table“isselected,onlythedataintableformareshown;whenselecting„Charts“,theillustrationofthecurvesforvoltageandcurrentingraphicformisactive.There is also the option of concurrent display of both versions.Example: Display version „Charts“

10. OPERATION OF THE CHART FUNCTIONFunctions:Fourviewsarepossible:Line,bar,areachartandlinesin3Dperspective(„Tilt“and„Rotation“canbeset).

Enlarging to certain areas, „Zoom“ by mouse:Keeptheleftmousebuttonpushedinthegraphicaldisplayanddrawaframeoverthedesiredarea.Afterreleasingthemousebutton,theselected area is shown enlarged.

Alternative: Movethemousepointertotheareaofthechartandright-click.Thefollowinginputfieldappears(seefigureontheright).• „ZoomIn“enlargestheviewbyhalfoftherecording.• „ResetZoom“takesyoubacktotheoverallview.

Dependingonthepointerpositionofthemouse,youcanalsousethescrollwheeltoenlarge/reduce.

11. SETUP „SETTINGS“

12. SUSPEND/CONTINUE RECORDINGSAfterdisconnectingthemainsunitofthecharger,thefollowingmessagewillbedisplayedbythesoftwareafterapprox.10seconds:

Nowclosethesoftware.Ifrequired,thecomputercannowbeswitchedoff.Thesoftwarewilloffertocontinuetherecordingatthenextprogrammestart.

Youcannowtakethechargerintooperationagainandthenconfirmthesoftwaremessagewith„Yes“.Nowthelastrecordeddataareloadedand the recordings are automatically continued. Whenselecting„no“,thedataaredeletedandanewrecordingisstarted.

Ifthesoftwarehasnotbeenterminated,pushthebutton„StartLogging“aftertakingthe„ChargeManager2024“intooperation.Therecording is continued here as well.
