Baronial Business Meeting Minutes
Meeting Minutes for 1-29-18
Officer Reports
Archery – We had 5 new people at practice. Some of
the archers plan to visit other group’s practices once a
month. Other groups would like to do the same for
our practices.
- Gunnarr is working to get her Youth officer
certification. She will not be an official baronial officer,
but rather a Youth “Marshal” at large for archery and
possibly for event activities if needed.
Herald – Nicolai needs to step down ASAP. We are
looking for a replacement. Gunnarr will step up in the
interim until we find a herald. She is willing to do the
voice heraldry, but we need a book herald as well as
someone to maintain the Baronial Order of
Precedence.
Upcoming Events and Announcements:
Spring Event
- We discussed having a light A&S presence since we
are focusing on the TOD. Sigulf is willing to coordinate
classes and activities if people want to teach. We also
discussed approaching Aurora to see if she wanted to
run a games area again.
- We will have Their Majesties in attendance only.
- Katrin submitted the Pale for the February and
March issues. She was able to correct the phone
number mistake for the March issue.
- Katrin also created a new Facebook page. Ursus was
having issues with his Facebook account and
unfortunately, everything connected to his account
was deleted including our event page.
Meeting Minutes for 2-5-18

Event Reports
Their Excellencies attended Candlemas. There was a
large turnout for visiting royalty.
Officer Reports
Archery – We are having issues with an ROTC group
coming into the Armory on Sundays and disrespecting
the boundaries that Gunnarr has set up for safety
reasons. We have the entire Armory reserved on
Sundays. We discussed trying to communicate with the
group directly and then going to their commanding
officer if the behavior does not stop. Moonwulf has
uprights the group can use to rope off the area as well.
The Archery Collegium is set for Saturday February
10th, 2018 at Huis Doorn from 1-6 pm. There will be
classes on sharpening and repairing of gear.
Seneschal – Brianna’s report is due soon. Let her know
ASAP if there is anything she needs to add to her
report.
Upcoming Events and Announcements:
Spring Event
- We discussed the tentative Fencing and TOD
schedule. Authorizations 9-10; Cut & Thrust Tourney/
Novice Tourney 10-11; TOD 11-3 with pauses for
lunch; Regional War Practice melees 3-4:30
- Who is in charge of getting snacks and bringing the
jugs of water for the fighters? We will discuss that
closer to the event.
- We also need more marshals to confirm that they
will be marshaling and not just playing. We discussed
advertising on the marshal and MOD boards and we
can do a sign up volunteer sheet/online sign up.
- We need to check with Rocky for exact start and end
times, but lunch is usually between 11-2.
- Will we have a morning court and how will that
affect the tournament schedule? Malie will discuss that
with Their Majesties.
- Do we want the falconers back? ‘Coise will make
contact with that group again.
- We discussed the list set up. The fencers will get the
larger area this year. We will need to use more of our
rope/stanchions/uprights to mark the additional lists.

New Officers Nikolai Vasilei Stefanov has stepped down as
the Rivenstar Baronial Herald. We wish him luck in all his new endeavors!
Jacob MacAndrews has graciously
accepted the office of the Rivenstar Baronial Herald.
Congratulations Jacob!

Baronial Business Meeting Minutes
- Any items that are coming from Pieter’s house need
to be picked up since he will not be attending the
event this year due to work conflicts. Enkara
volunteered to pick up the tents and supplies.
- Katrin will send Enkara a copy of the schedule she
made last year. We discussed doing posters again this
year. We don’t think we need handouts.
- Nicolai will have a feast tasting/development
meeting soon. Contact him if you want to be in the
planning meetings.
- Gunnarr asked for artists to help her make
advancing targets for the archery range. There were
several volunteers.
- Enkara contacted Arranxta about the feast tokens.
‘Coise confirmed we are putting in an order for the
rapier charms for site tokens.
- We discussed heralds for the event. Since it’s a royal
court, they will have their own heralds signed up for
court. We will still need field heralds to make
announcements.
- We discussed juggling archery and thrown weapons
marshals throughout the day.

Officer Reports
Archery – Gunnarr asked if the archery group was
allowed to purchase target faces. The group voted yes
for the purchase. The Fort Wayne group will be here
this Sunday and there will be scored shooting.
Chronicler – The next issue of the newsletter will be
out next week.
Chatelaine – See Rocky if you need loaner garb or
helping making garb.
Exchequer – ‘Coise was asked to bring in the
checkbook, but no one remembered why. No deposits
or payments are due for anything just yet.
Herald – We have a new herald!
Jacob MacAndrews has graciously volunteered to be
our baronial herald. The change of officer form was
filled out during the meeting and Jacob will be
contacting his regional and kingdom officers as well as
5

filling out the report that is due soon.
Seneschal – Brianna’s quarterly report has been sent.
Upcoming Events and Announcements:
Feast Planning Meeting - Huis Doorn, this Sunday
2/25 at 5:00 pm
Spring Event
- Encara read us the email response from the group she
contacted in Ohio that is planning a fencing centric
event opposite our TOD. They are aware of the potential
for conflict and will discuss it further with their group.
- We hope to have more detailed schedules up soon for
the website and the Facebook page.
- Lunch will be from 11-2 pm.
- The archers will assist with lunch to help raise funds for
their group again this year.
- We need to further evaluate what kind of A&S
presence we need for the event. The active members of
the barony involved in the event planning would like to
focus primarily on the TOD, but the Midrealm populous
has voiced a general desire to have A&S functions at all
events. Encara will coordinate with Sigulf. If anyone
wishes to teach or host an A&S event, please contact
Encara or Sigulf and we will try to build a respectable
schedule.
- The fencing schedule has changed; Jacob sent Encara
the information he received from our Marshal in Charge
(MIC).
- The first Feast Planning meeting is scheduled at Huis
Doorn, this Sunday 2/25 at 5:00 pm.
- What signs do we need? Encara has a plan. Let her
know if we need any additional signage.
- We confirmed that the March Pale ad has the correct
phone number for the autocrat.
- Katrin will update the Facebook page as information
becomes available and we will get word to Ursus about
updating the website.
