Going to university is an important time for any young person. As a parent or supporter, it's natural to have concerns about your son or daughter, especially if they are leaving home for the first time.

The application cycle

Page 2: B.Arch

Deadlines for undergraduate applications are mostly set by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), which organises the entrance of students into university in the UK.

Your dependant will apply online for the university of their choice using the UCAS website. Most of our courses have a corresponding UCAS page which provides general information, including entry requirements. For more detailed information about an individual course, please visit our online course pages.

We've created a useful step-by-step guide which explains in detail each step of the application cycle.

Accommodation

If your dependant is leaving home for the first time, choosing where to live is a big decision. We have three accommodation sites based at our Carnatic Student Village, the Greenbank Student Village and on-campus. Each residence is within easy travelling distance of the city. More than just a place to sleep, our accommodation facilities are lively, friendly communities with great amenities ranging from cafés to libraries.

Visit the University's Accommodation website for all the information you need to help you and your dependant decide which accommodation best suits your needs.

Fees and finance

You already know that tuition fees don't have to be paid up front, but there is also a wide range of financial support available for students starting their studies. Liverpool is also a comparatively cost-effective city, so your dependant's money will go further here than in many other student cities.

Our Fees and Finance pages provide all the information you will need to know about costs and help available.

Top ten tips

With so many different deadlines throughout the year, the application process can appear complicated at first. Read our Top Ten Tips to learn how you can help your son or daughter with their application.

Please note that places are subject to availability and not all courses accept late applications. The application deadline for any professional course in medicine, veterinary medicine/science and dentistry has now passed. Visit the UCAS website for further details.

If you have already made five university choices through UCAS, received decisions from all these choices and either had no offers or declined all the offers you have received, you can still apply to the University through UCAS Extra.

For International students, you will need to apply through UCAS by 30 June 2015.

Part-time study

At the University of Liverpool we offer Part-time study which is a great way to study for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree to balance further study with other commitments.

Unconditional offer-making 2015

As competition to recruit students grows, some UK Higher Education institutions are responding by changing their admissions practices and increasing the number of Unconditional offers they issue to applicants.

Here at the University of Liverpool we will not be changing our approach to offer-making.

We are proud to place the best interest of our students, current and prospective, at the heart of our admissions policies. Each application is carefully considered before we decide on the most appropriate decision to make. And that offers is focused on what is in the best interests of the student, both now, as they work hard to achieve the strongest qualifications they can at their School or College, and in the future when they start their inspiring, challenging and exciting programme of study at the University of Liverpool. Read our Head of Admissions' statement on the matter Policy on unconditional offers.
