BALLOCH FARM CONSULTATION Site Boundary Land in the ownership of Balloch Farm Creating a distinctive place that is attractive and usable for both people and nature - Planning Officer Balloch Farm is located to the east of Inverness city centre between the communities of Balloch Village and Culloden. The farm is made up of mainly arable farmland and bordered by mature woodland and a burn that crosses the south west edge of the site. This natural environment makes for great opportunities to connect through green networks and extended woodland planting. INTRODUCTION 1 CA Playing Fields Expansion Community Use THE SITE 2 Balloch Farm masterplan is a housing development that will house circa 300 residential units within the Inner Moray Firth Development Plan (IMFDP). The site is located to the south of the A96 road to Aberdeen, on a slope that overlooks the Moray Firth and lies between the village of Balloch and the growing community of Culloden. The masterplan will bring growth to the immediate communal facilities such as Culloden Academy, Balloch Primary and the Community Hall. An effective site The site is unallocated ‘grey land’ (there is no presumption for or against development) in the local plan. The site has limited constraints and a good existing infrastructure of transport links, local services and utilities, thus making this an effective site for development.
