Hypothermic (35.3° C)

Hypotensive (90/50)

Tachycardia (108 bpm)

Diffuse haemorrhagic rash

Necrosis of the tips of the fourth and fifth digits of the left

hand

Rickettsiae are transmitted from tick to

human during feeding and the organismspreads through the body via both bloodand the lymphatic system.

The incubation phase of infection rangesfrom 3-12 days, depending on the volumeof the inoculum

Septic Shock

Bacterial Causes:

N.meningitidis

S.pneumoniaH.Influenza

L.monocytogenes

But only N. meningitidis can cause

meningococcal septicaemia

(which we think is the most likelycause btw)
