We bid you farewell, goodbye & good luck!

Dr Lad will unfortunately be leaving the practice from the end of April

2016. He has been lucky enough to find a partnership very close to his

home which will certainly reduce his long commuting times to Edgware.

He would like to wish his patients well and thanks them for the support

they have shown him during his time here.

He has worked here for over 8 years and will be missed by both patients

and staff.

We wish him all the best in his future career.

We will miss her wit and experience and greatly

New Born Baby Registration

Congratulations if you have just had a new baby!

Please remember to register your child with the surgery as soon as

possible after their birth.

All you need to do is bring in their Red Book, which you will be given

when they are born and also their birth certificate (which can take up to 6

weeks, so you can bring this in later).

Both you and baby will also need a 6 week check-up after birth with the

doctor, so do arrange this appointment in time.

Child Vaccinations and Immunisations

BCG vaccinations for your child can be given at

the following clinics but you will need to book an

appointment. Please note there is a high demand

for appointments at the moment.

• Alexandra Avenue Clinic

• Caryl Thomas Clinic

• Honeypot Lane Clinic

The number to call is: 020 8966 6300

Flu Vaccinations

There is still time for you to have your Seasonal Flu jab.

It is expected to be a harsh winter over the

coming months, so contact the surgery to

check your eligibility to have it with reception,

the practice nurse or health care assistant.

Any stocks of our remaining vaccines will be

sent back mid-February, so please book your

appointment before then.

The number to call is 020 8952 5073

Stay well this winter. Tips from Harrow CCG

(Extract taken from Patients First, Issue 4)

• It’s important to protect yourself and others from the flu by

getting a flu vaccination

• Seek help from your pharmacist at the first sign of common winter

ailments (e.g. cold, sore throat and coughs) to avoid complications

• Make sure you keep warm this winter (heating your home to at

least 18°C / 65°F)

• Getting prescriptions (particularly repeat prescriptions) collected

or delivered before GPs and pharmacies close for holiday periods

• Keep your medicine cupboard stocked up with items such as

paracetamol, cold and flu remedies, plasters, bandages and

thermometers so you don’t need to go out if

the weather is bad

• Take all medicines as intended (including

any prescribed antibiotics)

• Keep an eye on older people or frail friends ,

neighbours and relatives this winter

• Eat well this winter. Try to have regular hot

meals and drinks throughout the day to keep

your energy levels up.
