Our Philosophy We believe every child can succeed and every one of them learns differently. Therefore, it is our job to look at each child as an individual and teach them in a way that matches their learning style.

Our classroom should be a place where every child feels happy, safe, loved, and respected.

School ScheduleSchool begins at 8:00 am and ends at 2:30pm.Every Wednesday dismissal is at 12:40pm.Early Pick up: If you are going to pick up your child early, please stop by the office . Legally, students may not be released unless they are signed out. Please try not to pick up your child early. We understand that sometimes it is an emergency, but for all other reasons such as doctor appointments, try to schedule after school, if possible. Thank you. After school pick up: You or an authorized adult may pick up your child in the classroom. If you think you might be late, please call the office. We are usually at school until 4:00pm. After 4:00, you may pick up your child in Rm. 35 with Ms. D.

Attendance and TardiesStudents must come to school everyday unless sick or if there is a family emergency. Every day new lessons/activities are being taught. If your child is out, please call the office or send a note with your child when he/she returns to school. Please bring your child to school on time. School starts at 8:00 am. Tardies cause many distractions and can throw off our daily schedule; please be on time.

Snacks and Lunch Students receive breakfast before school and at recess. If you would like to send a snack for recess, we prefer its a small healthy snack with juice or water. Recess is about 20 minutes.Every student receives lunch every day even if they are reduced or full price and forgot to bring money. Ms. D. keeps a daily meal log and will inform you of any I.O.U.s. If your student is allergic or does not eat a variety types of food, please ask for a breakfast/lunch menu in the office.

BirthdaysIf you wish for your child to celebrate his/her birthday in the classroom, please let us know ahead of time by email or in person to accommodate in our daily schedule. We prefer at the end of the day around 1:30 to 2:00pm. You may send small treats , juice, napkins, and cups. There are 40 students currently enrolled

Code of CooperationStudents and teacher together created the code of cooperation. We will follow directions and pay attention. We will raise a quiet hand.We will keep our hands and feet to ourselves. We may leave our seats with permission.

HomeworkIt is handed out every Monday and returned on Fridays complete. This includes the weekly reading log. If the homework is late without a valid excuse, then your child will not receive a sticker. It consists of learning targets taught throughout the week and continuous skill practices. Some hands on activities may not be required to be turned in ; however, it is really important that they are done at home since they are activities that continue to build skills taught in class. Please read to your child every night and answer the questions for each night on the reading log.Dont forget to initial the cover page for each day, which indicates you went over the homework and it is complete.
