Accelerated Reader

• 1 book per month starting in Sept• All books in their reading level range• Students must pass with a 70% or higher.

If the student does not pass the reading test, they must read another book

Homework and Grading

• Late work • Accepted when a note is provided from home, the

student was ill, or absent for another reason.• Grade will decrease by 10% each day the

assignment is late• Grades are based on percentages rather than

points. Homework is weighted more heavily than tests in terms of history and English, but writing assignments are a huge part of the English grade. For example:

• Weekly writing is worth 30% of the total English grade, therefore an averaged grade for all writing assignments goes towards 30% of the English grade

• Special Scores: (The are no A+ grades unless the student receives extra credit on an assignment or test)
