BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMSManagement information systems (MIS) at Sam Houston State University is an established program that has grown and advanced with the trends in the industry. The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in MIS offers small class sizes and the education to enter a broad range of career areas. Information systems, including databases and computer networks, are an essential aspect of today’s business operation and are utilized by most companies. Management information systems professionals hold an important role in these companies, acting as a link between managers and programmers. By understanding the information, technology, and business needs and capabilities of the company, MIS professionals assist in achieving company goals. A degree in MIS from SHSU puts you on the path to becoming one of these critical team members.
REQUIREMENTSManagement information systems students must maintain at least a 2.0 in their SHSU, cumulative, and business grade point average and earn a “C” or better in all management courses taken. At least 50 percent of the required business curriculum for the BBA degree must be taken in residence at Sam Houston State University.
Minor: A minor is not required to complete this program. Students should be aware that a minor will add hours to the length of the degree program.
