GUIDELINES FOR DATABASE PROJECT
Rationale
The Project aims to provide the means by which students are able to apply the concepts learned in classroom lectures and discussions through database construction for real business accounting system. Each group chooses a business (e.g. sari-sari store or any small to medium sized companies, professional services firm, restaurant, retail merchandising, hospital/clinic, pawnshop, school, video rental establishment approval of the instructor has to be secured) for which it will be required to design (or redesign) and construct a database, including all relevant accounting information system.

Deadlines
Jan 21, 2014 Initial Draft (Parts I III) hard copy only
Feb 21, 2014 Presentation of Database Constructed (Part IV)
Mar 18, 2014 Final Paper and Presentation (All Parts) and revisions
The final paper must be submitted in both hard and soft copy. The hard copy must be ring bound. Soft copy of the final paper and the database constructed should be saved in a DVD-R. Only one DVD-R per section with 4 folders representing each group. There will be a 10% deduction for late submission.
Clarification on this project will be entertained during classes.
