AT&T pay $5million in discrimination caseA Muslim woman in Kansas City has been awarded over $5 million in punitive damages from her employers after being harassed by co workers including an incident when her boss snatched of her head scarf and exposed her hair.
AT&T, an American multina-tional telecommunications corporation, was brought before a Jackson county jury after it failed to deal with a number of incidents Bashir had to face.

A note in which Micheal Jackson told of his sleep less night has been pulled from a Las Angeles auction at the request of his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley.
The hand written note to Presley written between 1993-96 tells of Jackson’s worry about his health and the 4 days he hasn’t slept for. At the time Jackson and Presley were good friends and later married.
In an extract released by Reuters the singer who died after asking his doctor to give him a powerful anesthetic to help him sleep reads;“Lisa I truly need this rest I haven’t slept literally in 4 days now. I need to be away from phones and business people. I must take care of my

( BUKHARI)
Lassie Author Comes Home
By Bill Smith Jr
West Yorkshire-born Eric Knight, author of the greatly loved children's book 'Lassie', has
Rose Plaque to celebrate his life by Bradford Council's libraries and the Yorkshire Society. The Yorkshire Society arranged for the purchase and erection of the plaque.
Peter Barber, from the Yorkshire Society, said: '"We are most pleased to honour this worthy individual who has not previously been recog-nised in the county of his birth."
Greg Christie, the author's biographer, campaigned tirelessly for a suitable memorial for the author for many years. He gave a short talk after the Yorkshire Rose Plaque was unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith, outside Menston Library on Saturday 26th May. Menston Library will feature a display of memorabilia
and some of his ten novels.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford said: "It is wonder-ful that Bradford Libraries is hosting this event and providing a home for the plaque in honour of such an important local writer."
Knight moved to America with his parents after the age of 15 and although he gained American Citizenship to serve in the army in World War Two, he never forgot his West Yorkshire roots or his birth village of Menston, returning many times during his life.
Eric Knight had a varied career. As well as writing a book that has sold 110 million
600 TV episodes he served in the Canadian Army during World War One, was an art
based on his own books, 'Lassie Come Home' and 'This Above All'.
He was killed when a US Military transport plane, bound for Africa, crashed in Surinam) in 1943.
