21. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) offers a NURSE Corps

partnered with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the national voice for

139. Spanish American Cultural Center Scholarship

Description: This scholarship is available to students of Latino descent who are high

school graduates, graduating seniors or who are obtaining a GED from an institution

located in any of the following Illinois counties: Sangamon, Cass, Douglas, Champaign,

Macon, McLean or Morgan. This Scholarship is renewable for one additional year of

schooling after the initial year. To be eligible, the scholarship recipient must (1) continue

in the following school year as a full-time student, (2) maintain a GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0

scale, (3) submit an application for renewal and (4) submit proof of enrollment.

Requirements

1 - Student must be of Latino descent (1st, 2nd or 3rd generation) with either the

applicant, a parent or grandparent born outside the USA.

2 - Be a high school graduate from one of the following Illinois counties, or have a GED

Certificate from an institution located in any of the following Illinois counties:

Sangamon, Cass, Douglas, Champaign, Macon, McLean or Morgan.

3 - Applicant must be no older than 20 years of age by September 1st of the coming

school year.

4 - Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a non-weighted 4.0 scale.

5 - Attend school as a full-time student in the coming fall at an accredited community

college or four year college/university.

140. Arlington Heights Nurses Club Scholarship

Description: This scholarship is for residents of Arlington Heights, Illinois, who are

enrolled in a National League for Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing

Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program. To qualify for this scholarship,

applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum B average in all college

course work. Applicants must have successfully completed at least one clinical rotation in

nursing, be a CNA, or a LPN.
