Dreams can come true with Autocab

Many of us can only dream of running our own business and, not just any old business, but a successful private hire taxi firm. However, it is easier said than done and, for many it takes years of hard work and dedication before their business is running smoothly and profitably. There are few that manage to achieve this before acquiring a wealth of experience in the industry. But, award winning young entrepreneur of the year, in the name of Paul Anderson (owner of Central Taxis Peterhead), did just that and at the age of just 19.

Paul began work in the industry at the tender age of 13 washing cars when the company was called Elaine’s Taxis. He worked his way up the ranks before raising enough capital and a presenting a formidable business plan to execute a take-over when he was just 18. Following a successful re-brand and strong marketing campaigns he has now taken the business to new heights and is looking forward to a prosperous future. Currently owning all the vehicles (which even carry private number plates) he ensures that all

drivers are uniformed and maintain a high level of service. His company is already the biggest firm in Peterhead with a fleet of 18 vehicles. However, this is just the beginning and Paul has an eye on just one thing and that is expansion. He believes that Autocab is the system to help him achieve this and was kind enough to share his story with us, saying…

This inspired us to arrange our very first annual user conference in order to offer our customers a unique opportunity to gain a valuable insight into forthcoming and innovative products from Autocab (including CabMedia), and to create a forum where they could share their views and experiences with other Autocab users.

With all the ‘hype’ surrounding the conference, the pressure was on to deliver for the hundreds of users that attended on the day – and we did just that! The conference proved to be a huge success. We were proud to have such an excellent turnout representing a great display of customer loyalty and filled the conference room with a

friendly yet ‘buzzing’ atmosphere. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this, especially by attending.

The conference was a great opportunity to learn about new technologies in the industry whilst networking. It was also a chance to meet with some of the most successful private hire taxi companies in the UK some of whom were kind enough to offer their advice on what has made them such successful taxi companies and to join our panel for a discussion. Following the conference opening by Hassan Abod (MD Autocab), Liam Griffin, Addison Lee (4000 cars) presented a very interesting insight in to his company’s history which gave some insight into what makes

such a successful private hire taxi business. The audience listened attentively to a very informative speech which was delivered professionally by the Addison Lee delegate. This provided a fitting start to our first annual conference and set the tone for things to come.

Then it was then the turn of Safa Alkateb, MD Autocab, who took the helm of Autocab in August 2012, to introduce our latest products, including Cab Media, with another informative and interesting presentation which was enough to keep an intrigued audience on the edge of their seats. He began by presenting a number to the audience (28,782) and asked them to guess what it meant. It was in fact the collective number of cars in our customers’ fleets who attended that day. He then presented a second number (14,625) which was the collective fleet size when those companies joined Autocab. Demonstrating how Autocab can help your business expand. The conference proved to be interesting and informative throughout which led to some excellent praise from all who attended.

Ads are created quickly and easily and simply uploaded to our web portal. Advertisers can specify exactly what journey’s will receive which adverts and when. For example, a local takeaway place might like to advertise a ‘two for one meal deal’ but only on a Thursday evening between the hours five and ten pm, these parameters can easily be set on the web portal. CabMedia will then only display the adverts at the specified time and relevant journeys. A café might like to promote a ‘buy one get one free’ but only on a Saturday afternoon whilst Monday to Friday they may wish to offer a 25% discount, all this is possible. Similarly, a large electrical supplies company with national coverage, can easily specify that their ad be displayed to any journey dropping off a passenger within a certain distance of any of their distributers. Customer feedback is captured and fully integrated with Ghost providing you with a very powerful and profitable tool.
