Life Coaching For all those affected by Autism.

Jaclyn Hunt, MA

Importance of Life Coaching in Autism:

Autism Spectrum Disorder affects 1-100 children.

Children on the Autism Spectrum grow into Adults

on the Autism Spectrum.

In fact, by the time a child turns 21, most services

end and the adult is left to navigate the world on his

or her own. Additionally, colleges are not required to

provide services for students with Autism.

Futhermore, parents are aging at this point and will

not be able to intensely care for their child

throughout his or her entire adulthood.

Most people on the Autism Spectrum can lead

fulfilling and independent lives, with proper training

and assistance where necessary.

A Life Coach is an excellent way to transition a

person on the spectrum into adulthood as well as

become a guide throughout each phase of adult

development. Development does not stop when a

child turns 21, development is a life long process.

Close Friends, Trust), and Romantic

In order to achieve independence and freedom in

the world Adults on the Autism Spectrum must

be able to drive a car or utilize various alternative

forms of transportation, handle self care and

hygiene, and develop domestic skills such as

cooking, cleaning, completing financial tasks,

and maintaining a home or living space.

The final area of expertise an adult on the

spectrum must obtain is employment. The ability

to find and keep a job, to develop a desireable

and successful career, and to achieve the highest

level of independence and self-sufficiencey he or

she is capable of attaining.

Everyone on the autism spectrum is capable of

achieving an acceptable level of independence.

“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”

-Winston Churchill

An adult encouraged to learn and make changes.

This chart is an illustration of the stages of

understanding that must occur in order for the Adult

on the Autism Spectrum to desire and make a change.

This method was developed by Jaclyn Hunt, MA and

is the main subject of her future book. If a person on

the spectrum is to change his/her ways, this process

must be completed. No one can force change upon

another, it must be encouraged positively from the

outside and formed from within.

In An Adult on the Autism Spectrum

Provider Profile: Jaclyn Hunt, MA

Jaclyn is Life Coach that specializes in Autism for all those

who are affected by it.
