Case Study:At a time in higher education when resources are scarce, it is common for there to be zero sum thinking among offices that do inclusion and equity work when forced to “fight” for resources. These conversations exist within a hierarchical structure where constraints are ever present. One of those constraints is that each unit asks for money, individually, to the Dean.

What does intersectional thinking require of us?

Case Study:You are a practitioner that is working with diverse students and actively trying to apply student development theory. You find, however, that much of the theory is presented in a linear manner and without critique. In many cases, the theory was written by white males – though it reflects the experience of many.
