Catholic Charities presents “Bingo on the Bayou”
Saturday, August 11th, 6:00 p.m.
Get ready to yell “Bingo!” in support of Catholic Chari-ties of North Louisiana! Tickets are now on sale for the “Bingo on the Bayou” dinner fundraiser on Sat-urday, August 11th, at East Ridge Country Club. Local priests, including Bishop Duca, will be on hand to call the bingo games, with prizes being gift certificates to local restaurants. All proceeds from “Bingo on the Bayou” will benefit the programs of Catholic Charities of North Louisiana including financial education, emer-gency assistance, healthy eating classes, parenting programs and assistance for low-income mothers, and immigration services. Individual tickets are $50 each with table sponsor levels of $750, $1000, and $1500. Dress is casual and the event is open to guests 21 years and older. Tickets can be purchased at www.ccnla.org or by calling (318) 865-0200 ext. 101.

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shreveport plans to begin a special needs catechesis program geared towards children with developmental and cognitive challenges. The tentative start date for the program is Fall 2018, meeting one Saturday a month for 30-45 minutes. The program will aim to present our Faith in a manner adapted to the learning abilities of our special needs children. Attention, Help Needed!! The annual Red River Revel is Sept. 29th—Oct. 7th. St. Mary’s has a food booth each year as a fundraiser for the church. Help is
needed on the committee to help final planning, prepa-rations, and to register volunteer for this annual event. There are many changes to the Festival this year, and additional help is needed to accommodate the changes. A meeting and tasting of this year’s food items will be held on August 8th beginning at 6:30pm in Vandegaer Hall. For additional information, please contact Steve Cadwell, 318-426-9818.
