The Li fe of Moses —
―Turning Wanderers
into Worshipers‖
Come join Moses and the Hebrews as they begin the Exodus from Egypt and journey to the Promised Land. This fascinating story traces God‘s people through their wilderness wanderings. Learn how God delivers them from bondage, covenants with them, and guides them into a fresh understanding of Himself. As we observe the leadership of Moses, Aaron, Joshua, and Caleb, we will realize God‘s plan for His people—redemption and a special relationship with Him. Watch the incredible transformation as God turns complaining wanderers into reverent worshipers!

SIX MERCIES MINISTRIES
The Six Mercies Ministry ministers to those who come to St. David‘s asking for assistance and is an answer to a prayer for a way to help and take some of this load from our clergy. More im-portantly, there is a need to be a good neighbor and to make our community a better place in which to live. The ministry is a lay based ministry and presently is staffed by 25 parishioners who volunteer. Six Mercies is open on Monday and Friday from 1pm to 3pm. We have entered into our 3rd year at St. David‘s with the ―Six Mercies Ministry.‖ In the past 2 years we have ministered to 329 people that have come to our doors.
If you are approached on campus by any one that needs assistance we are asking that you do not give money but
refer them to the Six Mercies Ministry at the times they will be open. We have signing posted on our entrance doors
with the times the ministry is open. This is so important because it will help us interview and track those who
come.
If you are interested in volunteering for this ministry please contact Jan Georges at 770-993-6084, ext 118 or [email protected]. We ask your prayers for guidance and understanding of those who are poor, addicted, and homeless.

TrebleMakers Chi ldren’s Choirs Begin August 23 rd! By Susie Clements, Asst. for Children’s Music
Children and music go hand-in-hand, and worship and music go hand-in-hand. So what could be better than to put the two together to serve ―God and church‖! All children and youth in PreK through high school can be a part of St. David‘s Music Ministry. The three choirs that collectively make up Treble Makers are:
The RSCM program, or Royal School of Church Music, is the curriculum for excellent choral singing and liturgical interpre-tation sponsored by the Episcopal Church. The implementation of this methodology will be very kid-oriented and fun. The children will be involved in some very serious musical learning, they just won‘t always realize it!

STEWARDSHIP NOTE
August 5, 2015
You can Give without Loving, but you can’t Love
w ithout Giving. August 2015
This is another take on my common message about Stewardship. But this made me think of Faith from the ‗old chicken vs. egg‘ controversy on what came first. You can give without emotional ties to your giving and many of us do, and if that‘s where you‘re starting from, thanks be to God that you‘re at least on that path. But you can‘t love, whether it be your children or your favorite cause without giving and the more you give the better you feel connected. Faith happens! I don‘t just mean monetarily, as I never do, but think about anything of true meaning to you and how you handle it. The priority that you give it represents your faith in it. So where does God show up on your life‘s list? We all live our faith out by our actions and thus reveal our belief structure based on how we treat God and our neighbors. If your daily life is anything like mine, there are numerous opportunities to do the right thing and at the end of the day it‘s truly easy for me to evaluate how well I did that day. I certainly have a long way to go but it‘s not hard to measure my actions against God‘s Laws. May you clearly see what God intends for you to do and more importantly may you show your love for God by giving yourself to Him.

EfM (Education for Ministry) is a great opportunity available at our church on Monday nights for learning more about the
Bible, theology, and Church History in a small group setting. The program is administered by the Sewanee (University of the South) School of Theology. Since its founding in 1975, this international program has assisted more than 80,000 participants
in discovering and nurturing their call to Christian service. EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together. For more information, contact Steve Cunningham (mentor) or Carolyn Powers (third year student). Steve's email is [email protected] and Carolyn's is [email protected].
Class starts September 14 and study materials need to be ordered, so contact Steve or Carolyn soon!

DRAKE HOUSE NEWS
S ingle , Homeless Mom and
Children Get a New Start a t
Drake House Drake House Apartment B-6, sponsored by St. David's, is the new home of an extremely appreciative single mother and her three small children. Our new resident mom states, "This is so nice. Peaceful. We have everything we need." The Drake House mission is to "provide short-term crisis housing, education, and empowerment programs for homeless mothers and their children in North Fulton County." Though she is a working mother, unforeseen financial challenges caused this mother and her children to be evicted from their apartment. Then, it was three weeks of temporary overnighters with friends and family, before North Fulton Community Charities and Drake House determined that she met the screening criteria to become a Drake House resident. She is eager to take in the training and counseling available
from Drake House professional staff, seeing this as a chance to "have a new start‖. Our resident mom has already had the chance to begin a savings account and she is laser-focus on identifying new goals. She has found that food, paper goods and toiletries are also available to her by making a weekly visit to the Drake House food pantry, enabling even greater opportunities to save. There are many ways to serve with the St. David's Drake House team, particularly in the role of mentor-advocate to moms or their school-age children or apartment decor. If you would like to be a part of this vital ministry to support the independence of homeless, single mothers and their children, please contact Karen Hall Wright at 910-209-1351 or email at [email protected].
SMALL GROUPS...
Small Groups: Not Too Big ,
Not Too Smal l – Just Right . Many of us at St. David‘s have experienced the warmth and companionship of small groups. I‘ve loved our small group from Spiritual Direction, our Honduras Mission Teams, the small groups from retreats, Daughters of the King training, and our Foyer Groups. Then there is the camaraderie of small Sunday school classes, EFM, pilgrimages, various ministries, and Discipleship classes. Small groups enhance our relationship with each other far beyond the walls of St. David‘s. Our small groups meet for as long as any two of its members want to continue to group. I have been a member of a small group almost nonstop for almost 25 years. Together the members of the groups and I have experienced death of a spouse, divorce, marriage, retirement, moving, job loss, betrayal, illness, and death of a child. We have shared our challenges and our moments
closest to Christ. We have been there, in the safety of confidentiality, to listen to, and comfort each other through it all. We, of the Small Group Discernment Committee, have been meeting weekly, ―grouping,‖ for the last year. Ron Bagwell, Linda Salmons, Rev. Katie, and I have connected on a spiritual plane and oh, we have laughed a lot! If this sounds intriguing to you and you would like to know more about being a part of a small group, please contact Ron Bagwell, (803-240-7203, [email protected]), Linda Salmons, Katie, or Margot Swann Tennis. Life happens and so we ―group.‖
