SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

Is this you? We especially invite:

• our non-Catholic Christian brothers and sisters and • the non-Catholic spouses who are married to our registered parishioners and • those who are baptized in the Catholic Church but have not received all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) and • those who are interested to know more about the Catholic faith.

Have questions about the Catholic faith? Talk to us!

We encourage you to contact us at any time so that we can meet you, answer your questions, and provide you with some resources.

We welcome you into our Parish! If you are interested in

learning more about the Catholic faith, please consider our RCIA program. In these classes, adults learn about the Catholic tradition and prepare for the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.

How Does One Become Catholic? The process of welcoming

those who wish to enter the Catholic Church is the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program. Classes meet on Thursdays from 7:00pm-9:00pm.

Although, we have September as the starting month of journey, anyone may come anytime on board and join in the journey. The spiritual journey is continuing and on-going.

If you have any questions about this journey, please contact Sonia 416-293-3011 or John 416-293-7449 or email, [email protected] so that they can meet you, answer your questions, discuss your spiritual formation, and provide you with resources.

ROSARY SUNDAY MARTYR'S SHRINE Once again, it's that time of the year, celebrating the 31

st Annual Rosary

Sunday Bus Trip, sponsored by the Knight of Columbus and CWL of St Bart's Parish.

September 13th, 2015

Celebrant and Homilist: Most Rev. Wayne Kirkpatrick, Auxiliary Bishop of the Toronto Archdiocese

This year 10 people from this parish can sign up to participate in the "Living Rosary". The 'Hail Mary' may be said in your mother tongue. More details in the Narthex.

ST. BART’S ANNUAL

FEAST DAY PICNIC

The weather cooperated and all was well with the world. The annual St. Bart’s picnic took off without a hitch on Saturday, August 22

nd. Well, that would be exaggerating because there were a

few snags (the mikes did not carry the lectors’ voices & the trains rambled in the background) to name a few. But the overall feeling was one of enjoyment and relaxation. Some of our parishioners performed a couple of line dancing routines. The Knights in charge of the bbq did a great job despite the pressure on them to dish it out quickly. All the CWL ladies and others who helped with the salads, dessert and the bbq are to be commended on a job well done. Everyone – young, old and in-between – enjoyed the games that were organized. Prizes were distributed to winners in each category. Face painting for the kids was a bonus and we saw faces, wreathed in smiles, decorated with hearts, flowers, butterflies and spiders. The food was delicious and plentiful – hotdogs and burgers (courtesy of a very generous parishioner), condiments, potato, green and Greek salads, corn on the cob, watermelon slices. Tea/coffee followed with cookies, cakes and other pastries. Pop, water and OJ were in abundance to fend off the heat and thirst. Music was played throughout the event and added to the conviviality. Thanks to one of our parishioners, we were also fortunate in obtaining the assistance of the Toronto Police 43

rd Division in lending, setting up

and tearing down of two awnings. Good P.R., eh? They joined us at the end of the picnic for a bite to eat and to interact with the parishioners. Photographs of the event will be posted on the church website shortly. Thanks go out to all the parishioners who attended and helped make this a success by buying their tickets early. As well as all those, who helped in various ways. Last, but not least, thanks to all those who planned and executed this picnic with great enthusiasm and effort. Next year we look forward to an even bigger and better event.

Would you want to be a part of this enjoyable and

rewarding CATHOLIC GIRLS LEAGUE? They are always

looking for new members. If you are a girl between the

ages of 10-18, drop by at the church office and fill up the

registration form. Fr. Fred Foley or Sheilah D’Souza will get in

touch with you.

Please register to pay for the trip on the bus in the office (weekdays) or the lobby (Aug 29, 30 & Sept.
