OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF HERITAGE RIDGE SOUTH PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION AUGUST 2020
AT HERITAGE RIDGE SOUTH CAMBRIDGE
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WAS UNANIMOUSLY PASSED BY THE MARTIN COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
On July 7, 2020, the Martin County Board of County Commissioners passed EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 1136 requiring persons wear face coverings in public places. The ordinance is in effect to protect each and everyone of us—WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER! Let’s work to get the numbers of COVID-19 down! It is required that everyone wear face coverings in indoor public places and to adhere to the social distanc-ing of 6 feet or more. We are required to wear masks while obtaining or providing any goods or services or otherwise visiting or working in any INDOOR public place, business or establishment. Face coverings must be worn in outdoor public places, businesses and establishments where social distancing in accord-ance with CDC guidelines is not possible and/or not being practiced. The following areas are included in the mandate: all County and Municipal Governmental Facilities, office buildings, fire rescue stations, ser-vice centers, recreational facilities, libraries, restaurants, bars, retail stores, salons, massage parlors, tattoo parlors, hotels, grocery stores, gyms, fitness centers, pharmacies, indoor recreational facilities, hospitals, medical offices, dental offices, movie theaters, concert halls, auditoriums, bowling alleys, playhouses, ar-cades, public transit and vehicles for hire. Restaurants and Food Service Establishments will require them except when actively consuming food or beverages. Persons receiving goods and services from a business or establishment that performs dental ser-vices, facial grooming or treatments, people that are engaged in outdoor work or recreation with appropri-ate social distancing pursuant to CDC guidelines, persons who have a medical condition or disability that makes the wearing of a face covering unsafe are a few exemptions. All businesses are required to post sign-age for easy visibility at all entry points. If you are unsure of the mandate guidelines, please visit the Emer-gency Ordinance listed above.
The month of August does not have a major holiday. There are a few small holidays that I felt may be worth mentioning. These are listed below: August 6—National Root Beer Float Day August 7—International Beer Day & National Lighthouse Day August 8—International Cat Day So, take some time to maybe drive past some of Florida’s beautiful lighthouses, enjoy a nice root beer float or a beer after a hard day’s work—if you have a cat or two, do some extra cuddling with them!

ALL STREETS AND ALL HOURS IN CAMBRIDGE
CRIME WATCH BY GILDA WELBES
Property crimes such as theft, van-dalism and burglary are down from last month. Statistics show chances for a person to become a victim of a violent crime in Hobe Sound such as armed robbery, aggravated assault or worse is 1 in 384. Hobe Sound is said to be safer than 20% of other cities in the US. The major threat to our residents is SCAMS. The latest scam is via telephone about AT&T. This scam will tell you there is a problem with your bill and you need to take care of it immediately by calling a certain number and there will be certain repercussions if you do not do this now. If you do receive this call, HANG UP. Do not respond to this call. You need to report it then call the phone number printed on your last AT&T bill to either verify the problem or satisfy you that there is no problem. DO NOT call the number given in that scam call. This can happen with any of your ’services’. Never call the number given during a scam call. Always go back to a source you know, like your last bill, and look for a cus-tomer service number to call. Then, relax!
NOTARY OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Just wanted to inform everyone that there is a new notary locat-ed here in Cambridge for any-one in our community in need of the service. If you require a notary service, please contact Rhonda Kehoe . You can contact her at (330)322-9118 or send an e-mail to [email protected]. The service is FREE to all Cam-bridge residents! Would like to also take a mo-ment to say how much the community appreciated all the years of notary service that Jim Ricker did for Cambridge. He will truly be missed!
Just one of many beautiful crea-tures that visit our community!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, or at least making the best of it! With the COVID-19 number of cases rising again here in Florida, it can tend to put a damper on some activities or plans you may have had. However, the main part of it all is to play it safe when with crowds or out in public. We are all in this predic-ament together and need to do whatever is necessary to lower the cases in our state. We need to help each other! Helping our furry friends during this tough time is also very im-portant. It is a real compassion of mine to help out whenever I can with rescue sites that do whatever they can to help our 4-legged friends. I received a notice just the other day from the Furry Friends or-ganization asking for people to help with the care of many ani-mals they receive due to abuse or animals that are discarded for some reason or another. It seems that the number of animals in their shelter has gone up because more and more people are facing hardship due to the financial impact of COVID-19. They have been asked to intervene in a terrible hoarding case and were called to a home where many animals were starving and in need of serious medical help. Furry Friends needs help! The animals are taken in by the Furry Friends organization where they are fed, get immediate medical attention, and are LOVED—something that many of these animals have never ex-perienced before. The Wasie Foundation has agreed to match all donations up to $5,000. This Foundation funds organizations that are classified as publicly-supported charities and are located in Wayzata, MN. If you can find it in your heart to donate to Furry Friends now, your gift will go twice as far! These animals need our support!!! Your donations are tax de-ductible! There are 3 simple ways to donate—on line at www/furryfriendsadoption.org/donate, by calling (561)747-5311 Ext 3 or by mail to 100 Capital Street, Jupiter, FL 33458. I give monthly and it makes me feel great knowing that I am do-ing all I can to help out. Animals are dependent on people and are always there to greet you at the door when you arrive home— THEY LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY!. THANK YOU FURRY FRIENDS AND ALL THE OTHER OR-GANIZATIONS THAT ARE THERE TO HELP OUT ALL 4-LEGGED CREATURES IN NEED! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!! Everyone Stay Safe! Rhonda Kehoe
