Technology Is GREAT When It Works. Unfortunately, there has been a hiccup on the parish/school website and in particular with forms. We are asking that all families who have registered for a Baptism, School Enrollment, Becoming a member to the parish or any other form since the end of June 2021, to please call the

parish at 715-352-3011 and let the office know that you completed an online registration. Recently, the parish office has become aware that families have filled out online registrations, but the forms have not been submitted. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding. The Parish/School Offices

HOLY NAME SOCIETY NEWS: We will once again have our concession stand at the North Central Steam Show on August 28—29, 2021. Mouth watering burgers, fries and onion rings will be sold! We need volunteers to help work the concession stand. A sign-up sheet is on the South Bulletin Board in the church entrance or call the parish office.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and supported the Friday Family Frenzy. A great time, great weather and great friends is what brings us together as a community in Christ.

Role of Catholics in Society We live in a country that upholds the separation of Church and state. So what is the role of Catholics in Todays society ? The role of the Church in the world has taken different forms over time, but the theme is the same. Be disciples in it! As the lay faithful — that is, not vowed priest or religious — we are called to live and love in the circumstances of our daily lives. St. John Paul II wrote a document about the laity. In it he wrote, “In their situation in the world God manifests His plan and communicates to them their particular vocation of seeking the Kingdom of God by engaging in temporal affairs and by ordering them according to the plan of God” (On the Lay Members of Christ’s Faithful, 15). God wants us in the hospitals, the board rooms, the law offices, the food pantries, and the little league games! We are to engage in the affairs of the world. But when we’re there, we should live the plan of God. We need to respect those around us, engage in just business and legal practices, and love our children. We should care for the earth, use our money wisely, and get to know our neighbors. We must ad-vocate for social policies that respect human dignity and human freedom. No matter our state in life, we are invited to build the kingdom of God! LPi

Please pray for the repose of the soul of George Schreier who passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on August 14, 2021. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Need a gift idea for a Wedding, Graduation, Birthday, or House Warming Party?

Consider buying a St. John's Cookbook and sharing the deli-cious recipes from our parish. We have less than 30 copies left. Each cookbook is $15.00 and they are available in the Gathering Space in church or at the parish office.
