What do I do if I hear the Fire Alarm ?
• Lock tills,cash boxes or safes if possible
• Turn off gas or electrical appliances if possible
• Close all doors and windows to prevent fire spreading
• Leave the building by the nearest available exit
• Report to the designated assembly points
•Assist in the evacuation of customers

Means of Escape Acquaint yourself with the nearest fire exit
Do not obstruct exits
Move away from the building -fire can cause explosions
Do not block access for the Emergency Services
Do not re-enter the building until advised to do so

If you discover a fire…
• Sound the alarm by breaking the nearest call point
• Call for assistance
• Turn off gas and/or nearby electrical appliances
• Attack fire with appliances provided but without taking personal risks
• Check the extinguisher is the correct type for the fire

• Accidents should be reported promptly
•Report any near misses, where someone may have been hurt if the circumstances were different e.g. loose carpet tiles etc
