By way of introduction, my name is Brian Utzman, Senior Region Manager for Savers Attended

Donation Network. Audrey Clark reported to me as our Area Coordinator for our Attended

Donation Stations (ADS) in the Northwest. She had responsibility for growing our business with

multiple partners managing 37 sites across OR, WA, ID, AK, and Western Canada.

Her responsibilities were much like that of a supplier to a buyer or distributor. While she did not

control their business, she communicated the importance and encouraged the benefits of what we

provided for them. She worked with them to recognize and hire talent, staff appropriately, and

train and follow-up to insure ultimate customer service to maximize product collections.

This was a new venture for Audrey and for Savers as she pioneered this position for the

company. Still, she approached this job with a sense of urgency. She prioritized meeting all of

the key managers as well as the ADS Attendants. She opened up avenues of communication to

identify and correct areas of improvement and applaud those duties that were being properly

implemented.

In her short time with Savers she demonstrated that she was goal-oriented and tenacious. She

also displayed effective communications skills and diplomacy to accomplish mutually beneficial

goals. She gained her clients’ confidence and trust and elevated their success levels to a degree

that would not have been achieved without her.

As Savers developed their budgets for 2016, they closed several markets, laid off numerous

managers across the US and spread their duties out among the remaining managers. It is

unfortunate for Audrey, and for Savers, that she was one of those that were laid off.

I would highly encourage any hiring manager to bring Audrey onto their team as I know she will

bring the same success to your organization as she did to Savers and, ultimately, that of the

companies with whom she worked. She is the person that enables her manager to lay their head

on their pillow at night, confident that her duties and responsibilities will be handled competently

and professionally.
