Fay moves across state IBEX to move to Pegasus hangar for further testing Shuttle Update: Monday's rollover of space shuttle Atlantis to the VAB was postponed due to Tropical Storm Fay. The earliest possi- ble new date is Thursday, depending on the route Fay takes across Florida. ELV Update: At Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, the IBEX spacecraft was fueled with hydrazine control propellant Aug. 12. This was fol- lowed by spacecraft spin balancing Aug. 14. Friday, IBEX was attached to the upper-stage booster. Technicians then performed a final spin-balance test of the entire flight stack on Saturday. After de- integration, the upper stage will be trans- ported to the Pegasus launch vehicle han- gar Tuesday. The IBEX spacecraft will be moved there Wednesday. We Are Go For Green! KSC Wins When You Use The Bins!! — The recy- cling of used plas- tics, aluminum and glass (PA&G) con- tainers at KSC has begun. The Industr ial area containers were staged last week at the following facilities: M7-355, M6- 0490, M6-342, M6-399, M7-360 and M6-1025. On Wednesday and Thursday, containers were placed in the LCC area in the following facilities: K6-1246, K6- 900, K6-1094, K6-1096, L6-146, K6- 1547, K6-0894 and K6-696. The new recycled recyclers are made from 100-percent recycled blue plastic composites and have labels specifying which commodity should be placed in the container. All personnel on KSC are en- couraged to take their empty PA&G con- tainers and place them in the proper bin. Please help sustain this program by in- corporating your used containers into this new KSC Recycling program. Please remember, once you place your used PA&G containers into the gov- ernment-provided container, they become the property of the U.S. Government and can only be removed from the recycling stations by Bridges BTC, Inc. www.nasa.gov
