The dreamer was a young man from Ocho Rios by the name of Gordon

‘Butch’ Stewart and he had a vision of providing Jamaica with more than they

expected. After six years as a salesman at a local firm, he decided to go it alone

and on 1st June 1968, Appliance Traders Limited was born.

Today, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Executive Officer Adam

Stewart, the ATL Group has grown and diversified into the 21st Century, now

encompassing a broad spectrum of new sectors while remaining faithful to the

philosophy that his father held so dear many years ago.

Whilst the father’s early days of selling air conditioning units from door to

door, parish by parish, has bowed out gracefully in favour of the son’s leading

technologies of today, at the ATL Group one thing you can be sure of is that

When ATL first opened its doors in the Cross Roads area of Kingston over 40 years

ago, few people would have imagined they were reading the first page of one of

Jamaica’s greatest success stories. Specializing in air-conditioning, which was still

new to the island at the time, and made up of just a handful of passionate people

and service vans all committed to making one man’s dream a reality, they set about

changing the face of service in Jamaica forever.

From humble beginnings, the ATL Group has spent over four decades continuously

When we joined forces with Jamaica’s most preeminent racing car driver, Doug

‘Hollywood’ Gore to create the previously unknown ‘ATL Automotive Racing

Team’, we vowed to do what everyone said couldn’t be done. The ATL Automotive

Racing Team entered the 2011 season using an official Audi Sport TT DTM spec

race car, the most technically advanced race car the region has ever seen and

supported by the same ATL Automotive Master Technicians who service our

customers’ vehicles from our service centres in Kingston and Montego Bay.

Just months later, having broken the Dover Raceway track record and recording

the fastest lap time ever at the International Race of Champions in Guyana,
