The Park, Kolkata honored the World Environment Day on June 5 with a flurry of activities, all in accordance with national and international standards of waste management, pollution control, and energy conservation. The day is celebrated every year to raise global awareness for the need to take

positive environmental actions. Thematically similar to Earth Day, World Environment Day was conceived way back in 1972 and established by the United Nations General Assembly. The first such day

was celebrated in 1973.

In keeping with the theme this year –"Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care" – some interesting activities took place in The Park, Kolkata. The hotel distributed saplings on a first-come-first-serve basis. We arranged for its entire staff a special menu at the EDR. Helmed by Chef Sharad Dewan,

the menu confirmed to the strictest of the green standards. In addition to that, posters and artworks reflecting the environmental theme were put up across the Hotel in Public areas and Back areas. The

green theme also reflected in the décor, the music and the ambience. The chandelier was lit in green light.

ENVIRONMENT DAY 2015

To commemorate The World Environment Day on Friday June 5, 2015.,at The Park New Delhi

team made a Green Commitment by Celebrating the theme of "One World , One Environment

"`with a week long activities starting from Monday,1st June to Saturday, 6th June,.There were a

myriad activities organized through the week so that all the team members could participate in this

essential drive.The objective of the initiative being to demonstrate our hotels commitment to

protection of environment by making hotel the fulcrum for people from all walks of life to come

together to minimize their footprint on the environment and ensuring for hotel guests, visitors,

employees, local communities, school children and the future generation, a cleaner, greener and

brighter outlook.

1st June 2015--Create from Waste Competition for the staff was organized .The competition saw a

fantastic participation.The 3 best items were awarded and displayed..

2nd June 2015 - The Movie on Environmental Issues like air and noise pollution, water

conservation, climatic change and global warming was very well received. It was screened in English

and Hindi for larger reach.

3rd June 2015 - Nukkar Natak on issues like Environment /Global Warming/ Pollution pulled in a

huge gathering. It was a great learning as well as very entertaining to see the team members

enthusiasm.

4th June 2015- Gift a Sapling . All Guests checking in were offered a sapling with a message

"PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT -PROTECT OURSELVES."

5th June 2015 -The Green Walk with the participation of staff to promote awareness about the

importance of “Clean and Green Environment” at Parliament street with banners and placards

A group also visited Balshayog Children Orphanage to spend the day with them. Apart from all the

dancing, singing and enjoying a huge lunch spread, they also got together and planted roses,

hibiscus, mango , pomegranate , guava and jasmine to name a few.Balshayog inaugurated rain water

harvesting plant and we witnessed it.

6th June 2015 -Last but not the least the week ended with a trip Know your Delhi ,which stands

currently among the tops ,when it comes to greenest cities in India.The green cover of the city

consists of nearly 20 per cent of its total area of 1,48,639 hectares . A tour in HOHO Bus to

understand Delhi and it's Heritage ,an exciting interaction between ancient, medieval and modern

Delhi. The monuments here have the most evident traces of this past, spanning a period of almost a

thousand years.

We felt so proud and we closed this wonderful week with a green commitment to our nation.

World Environment Day Celebration at Zone by the Park Hotel

The Park Group of Hotels is well known for its integrity and dedication for Environment upkeep.

Being a part of Apeejay Surrendra Groups we are always committed to caring, fostering and

conserving the environment. So Keepi g o ti ue our group’s alue e at Zo e y the Park Hotel decided to celebrate the World Environment Day and spread the awareness for

betterment of Environment.

First of All HOD team assembled at Staff parking area by 7.00 am and made a Zone team with

Banner showing our ai “Greening to Blue “.

From staff parking area we moved forward to Madhosingh Circle which is center for morning

walkers. We started our rally from our parking area to the Circle displaying our Message

through the banner.

In Madhosingh Circle, we distributed the plants and seeds for morning walkers & conveyed the

message that it is the place where we live, breathe, eat. Our entire life is dependent on the well-being

of all our environment.

We also roped the some plants with the public got the complete support from them.

Meanwhile some of our team member distributed the plants and seeds to people who were

passing by the roads.

Local public also supported our effort and assisted in making World environment day

successful.

So putting this End , we clicked one group photographs with a Senior most person who also

supported our objective.

Followed by outdoor activity we organized Indoor drawing competitions for Zoners on world

environment day theme.

our day to day life.

Hence Jaipur Zoners effectively celebrated the World Environment Day and spread awareness

among the local people with full strength and Hoping the same enthusiasm will continue

throughout the year.
