BENCH LIFT: After Cleveland’s reserves

averaged a franchise-record 41.2 points last season, the Cavs’ reserves are putting up 42.9 points per game in 2018-19 (5th-highest in NBA). The bench has posted 40+ points 43 times, 50+ points 20 times, 60+ points five times, 70+ points twice and 80+ points once (83 vs. BKN on 2/13/19).

• A FIRST SINCE NOVEMBER 2010: From Oct. 19-Nov. 3 of this season, the Cavs’ reserves

put up at least 40 points in 8 consecutive games, their longest since a 9-game stretch in November 2010 (11/5/10-11/23/10). (Elias Sports Bureau)

• SECOND TIME EVER: According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Cavs’ four straight contests

with 50+ bench points from Dec. 10-16 matches their franchise record. The only other time Cleveland accomplished that feat was 12/17/1991 to 12/21/1991.

• BUNCH OF BENCH POINTS: On Jan. 9 against New Orleans, the Cavaliers’ bench poured in

75 points, which was their most bench points in a single-game since Feb. 2, 2002 (76 vs. DET). Cleveland topped that mark with a season-high 83 bench points in a triple-overtime game against Brooklyn on 2/13/19, their 2nd-highest total in franchise history.

INSTANT SCORER: Jordan Clarkson is leading the Cavs’ bench this season, averaging a career-high 16.9

points (3rd-best among all NBA reserves), a .843 mark from the foul line, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 27.0 minutes per game. He has scored in double-digits 60 times (tied w/Lou Williams for MOST among all NBA reserves), including 20 20-point outings and one 30+ performance (42 vs. BKN on 2/13/19). He tied his career high with 3 consecutive contests with 20+ points from Jan. 5-9 (1/19/18-1/23/18 & 2/10/16-2/21/16).

• 20-10 IN UNDER 30 MIN: In a win at Brooklyn on 12/3/18, Clarkson registered his 1st

double-double of the season (5th of career) with 20 points, a career-high 11 rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes off the bench. He became the first Cavs bench player to post 20+ points and 10+ boards in less than 30 minutes since 4/16/14, when Tyler Zeller did it vs. Brooklyn (22 PTS, 11 REB, 26 MIN).

• MOST POINTS BY A RESERVE IN TEAM HISTORY: Against Brooklyn on 2/13/19,

Clarkson tallied a career-high 42 points, including a season-high seven three-point field goals (7-17), eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 48 minutes. Clarkson’s 42 points were the most by a bench player in franchise history (prev. 37 points by Phil Hubbard on 12/4/84). It was also his first career 40-point performance, as well as the most points scored by a Cavs player in any game this season.

ON THE LINE: So far this season, the Cavs have the 7th-highest free throw percentage in the NBA at .793.

• .900 OR HIGHER: The Cavs have shot at least .900 from the charity stripe on 13 occasions this season, their most in a single season. Their previous

recorded fewer than 10 turnovers on 11 occasions this season.

• FIRST TEAM TO DO IT TWICE: The Cavs have recorded only 3 turnovers in a game twice this

season (vs. LAL on 11/21/18 and at POR 1/16/19), becoming the first team since the NBA began compiling team turnovers on box scores in 1970-71 to have 3 turnovers on two or more occasions in a single season. (Elias)

REBOUND EDGE: Cleveland has tied or outrebounded foes 34 times so far. They have had at least a +9 margin on the glass 12 times. On 11/13/18, the Cavs

He also ranks 1st among rookies in free throw percentage (.836) and 2nd in three-point percentage (.396), while scoring in double-digits in 60 of 69 contests, including 18 20+ point performances. Sexton is also the 5th Cavs rookie ever to score at least 23 points in four consecutive games (3/8-3/14), joining Austin Carr (three times in 1972), Ron Harper (3/3/87-3/12/87), John Johnson (2/12/17-2/17/71) and Dajuan Wagner (11/29/02-12/4/02).

• 25 POINTS/0 TURNOVERS IN BACK-TO-BACK GAMES: From March 11-12, Collin Sexton posted consecutive games with at least 25

points and zero turnovers, becoming the first Cavaliers rookie to ever accomplish that feat. • FIRST OF HIS CAREER: At Oklahoma City on 11/28, Sexton recorded his 1st career double-double with 21 points, a career-high 10 rebounds, three

• I8 IN A ROW: Sexton scored in double figures in 18 consecutive games from 11/7/18 to 12/12/18, passing Dave Sorenson (17, 1/24/71 to 2/21/71) for

the 6th-longest double-digit scoring streak by a Cavs rookie in team history and was the longest since LeBron James’ 29 in 2003-04 season. The only longest double figure scoring streaks for a Cavs rookie ahead of Sexton are the following: Ron Harper-69 (11/1/86 to 3/21/87), LeBron James-29 twice (12/9/03 to 2/9/04, 2/18/04 to 4/14/04), Austin Carr-29 (1/25/72-3/19/72) and Brad Daugherty-23 (1/23/87 to 3/12/87).

CLEVELAND TO HOST NBA ALL-STAR 2022 AND COMMEMORATE THE LEAGUE’S 75th ANNIVERSARY CLEVELAND, Nov. 1, 2018 – The NBA announced that Cleveland has been selected to host NBA All-Star 2022, when the league will be commemorating its 75th anniversary. The 71st NBA All-Star Game will take place at Quicken Loans Arena, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022. The Cavaliers previously hosted NBA All-Star in 1997, when the NBA celebrated its 50th anniversary, and in 1981. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made the announcement on Nov. 1 during a press conference at Quicken Loans Arena, where he was joined by Cavaliers Chairman Dan Gilbert, Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena CEO Len Komoroski, Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish and U.S. Representative, Eleventh Congressional District of Ohio, Marcia Fudge. “Cleveland is a passionate sports city with a proven track record of hosting large-scale, global events,” said Silver. “We thank Dan Gilbert, Len Komoroski and the civic leaders for their commitment, and we look forward to a weeklong celebration of our game.” With the current, large-scale arena renovations underway that will be completed in advance of NBA All-Star 2022, the game and extended activities in the transformed Quicken Loans Arena will offer fans an enhanced experience. “We are proud to host NBA All-Star weekend in Cleveland in 2022,” said Gilbert. “We have been working with the NBA, the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County to deliver this iconic event to Northeast Ohio for the last couple of years. The transformation and new state-of-the-art Quicken Loans Arena was an important factor in the NBA’s decision to choose Cleveland for this exciting classic broadcast across the globe. The world will get to see the modern Cleveland and all of its diversity, innovation and promise for the future.” “Along with the excitement and appreciation for the NBA selecting Cleveland and Quicken Loans Arena to host NBA All-Star 2022, we want to extend a big ‘thanks’ to our local partners at Destination Cleveland and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, and our City, County and Civic leaders,” said Komoroski. “Their support and energy to always demonstrate what we as a community do best is at the core of bringing these major events to our city. We have a great partnership that will deliver an experience fitting for the NBA All-Star global spotlight. We thank the NBA for their confidence in this collective group, and we will put forth the focus and commitment to ensure that the players, fans, corporate partners, media and all who visit have an extraordinary experience in Cleveland and at the transformed Q in 2022.” “The City of Cleveland is pleased to host NBA All-Star 2022,” said Mayor Jackson. “Our city is no stranger to hosting successful, large, global events. It is a good opportunity, once again, for visitors to come to Cleveland and experience all we have to offer.” “This is great news for Cleveland and Cuyahoga County,” said Budish. “When we made the decision to invest in the transformat ion of the Q, we were aiming for exactly this kind of result. I am thrilled to see the NBA All-Star Game coming in 2022 with an expected $100 million economic impact to our region. Once again, our city and county will shine on the national and international stage and our businesses and residents will reap the rewards.” NBA All-Star on-court events will tip off on Friday, Feb. 18 at Quicken Loans Arena with MTN DEW ICE Rising Stars, an annual showcase for top rookies and second-year NBA players. On Feb. 19, State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will feature the Taco Bell Skills Challenge and the Three-Point and Slam Dunk contests. NBA All-Star 2022 will culminate with the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 20.
