Home Visiting Program Parents helping parents talk about your pregnancy, baby and childcare, child development, parenting, or whatever you need to talk about. Someone to support you in your job as a parent, connect you to resources. For more information, call 542-2835. Beginning Connections A program for learning and growing. An independent time for your children to play with other children. While you take a break! Learning activities geared to your child! Call us to book up to one week in advance. For more information or to register, call 542-2835. Playgroup A time for parents to come to enjoy playtime with their children and meet other parents. Snacks and activities are planned for the group. Toddler Group A time for parents and their toddlers (crawling to age 2) to come together for activities, snacks and discussions. Childcare is provided for older children, please call to book for childcare as space is limited. For more information call 542-2835. Infant Group For all pregnant women and Moms & Dads of new babies. This is a chance to talk with other parents about you and your baby, or just to get out and meet new people. For more information, call Wendy at 542-2835 x 4216 Baby's Coming A series of prenatal get-togethers where we talk about taking care of yourself while you are expecting, good nutrition, labour and delivery, baby care and feeding. Partners or your support person are welcome. It's a fun way to get ready for your baby and meet new people. Call Leann at 542-2835, As soon as you are pregnant to sign up! Pregnancy Circle Group members will receive their prenatal care and prenatal classes at the same time in a group setting for 8 sessions. They will learn how to measure and record their own weights, blood pressures and urine dips. There will be lots of time to share concerns and ask questions within the group. For information or to register, call Karen at 542-2835 Prenatal Nutrition Program All pregnant moms-to-be participating in our programs are eligible to receive $4 off milk coupons, prenatal vitamin coupons and a Good Food Box. Teens Loving Children T.L.C. is a time for pregnant or parenting teens, 23 years and under to get together with their babies and other young parents. There are fun activities, quest speakers and great food. For more information call 613-542-2835. Parenting Today A group setting, the second Tuesday of the month. Activities include guest speakers, parenting discussions and crafts. For more information, call Trish at 542-283 x 4209.

Smoking Cessation Do you smoke cigarettes? If you want to learn how to make your smoking safer, quit smoking or protect your children from second hand smoke, make an appointment with a nurse at BBKC. Breastfeeding Breastfeeding education is part of Baby’s Coming prenatal classes. 1 to 1 breastfeeding support is available with a BBKC community health nurse. Learn about the benefits of breastfeeding, latching and posi-tioning as well as feeding cues, how to know your baby is feeding well, common concerns and where to go for help. Community Kitchen ~ Good Food Box Cooking A monthly interactive cooking group, learn to cook nutritious meals from the contents of the Good Food Box. For more information or to register, call 613-542-2835

Thrive A program for pregnant and parenting women experiencing problems with substance us. Support and goal focused counselling to support you. Parent’s will create resilience-rich environments for their children by modeling resilient thinking and actions through their parenting. The group teaches parents to help children cope more effectively with life’s inevitable stresses and challenges, and introduces them to thinking skills that strengthens their capacity for lifelong resilience. School Readiness Programs

For children the year before they start Kindergarten. Providing activities to help improve your child’s success at school and to help parents be involved in their child’s learning. For children who live in the Better Beginnings area, are old enough to start school in September 2016 and not currently attending day care or nursery school.
