ASTM INTERNATIONAL 2nd Additive Manufacturing …€¦of additive manufacturing (AM) across a...

2
About the Workshop A holistic understanding of the entire additive manufacturing (AM) process as well as the benefits of standardized practices to ensure quality and reliability is useful to all involved in these technologies. In turn, this understanding will help ensure the accelerated and successful adoption of additive manufacturing (AM) across a variety of industry sectors. Join us for a one-day 2nd workshop that will offer participants a unique and comprehensive look at the entire AM value chain, including powder, design, processing, postprocessing, nondestructive inspection, qualification, and certification. The workshop will also cover how the newly formed AM Center of Excellence (CoE) is employing a combined approach of R&D and targeted standards development to fill gaps in standardization and workforce development. Who Should Attend The workshop is open to all AM professionals, including industry (aerospace, medical, automotive, and defense), academic, and government agency representatives who want to learn about the latest AM standardized practices. Why You Should Attend This workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from and engage with leading AM experts and participate in ongoing and future standard development activities. Each of the 12 interactive workshop sessions is designed with industry needs in mind and will illustrate the role and value of standards to achieving accelerated AM product qualification and certification. You will also learn about current AM technology standardization activities as well as the unique role of the ASTM AM CoE in transitioning targeted AM R&D projects into standards, workforce education, and training. Earn Program Credit This workshop is the first offering of the new AM CoE Education & Workforce Development (E&WD) Program, which will provide training opportunities for various levels of the AM workforce. This workshop will build towards a comprehensive, longer term Training Certificate endorsed by the ASTM AM CoE. Each workshop participant will receive a Verification of Completion that may be applied toward earning a Training Certificate through the new E&WD program, which will be aligned with the principles outlined in the ASTM standard practice for certificate programs (E2659).
