RESPONDING TO THE WORD

*The Prayer of St. Patrick (in unison) (Ushers gather in the narthex at this time.)

I arise today through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,

through belief in the Threeness, through confession of the Oneness of the

Creator of creation.

I arise today through the strength of Christ with His Baptism,

through the strength of His Crucifixion with His Burial,

through the strength of His Resurrection with His Ascension,

through the strength of His descent for the Judgment of Doom.

I arise today, through God's strength to pilot me:

God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me,

God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me,

God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me,

God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me,

God's host to secure me.

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me,

Christ beneath me, Christ above me,

Christ on my right, Christ on my left,

Christ in breadth, Christ in length, Christ in height,

Christ in the heart of every one who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of every one who speaks of me,

Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

I arise today through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,

through belief in the Threeness, through confession of the Oneness of the

Creator of creation. Salvation is of the Lord. Salvation is of Christ. May

Thy Salvation, O Lord, be ever with us. Amen.

Hymn “Bread of the World in Mercy Broken” #499

Prayer of Thanksgiving and The Lord’s Prayer … “forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors”

Communion of the People As you pass the plate to the person next to you, please say these words. The body of Christ, the bread of heaven. The blood of Christ, the cup of salvation.

Those taking communion are asked to hold the bread until all are served, symbolizing our unity in the Spirit of Christ, then to drink individually the cup, symbolizing our personal commitment to Christ.

Prayer after Communion (in unison)

Almighty and ever-living God, you have given us grace, by our confession

of faith, to acknowledge and worship the eternal trinity in the majesty of

the Unity. Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last

to see your eternal glory, one God, now and forever. Amen.

of Delhi, New York Church Life: June 11, 2017

Greetings and welcome! This day is known as Trinity Sunday. Therefore we think of God's revelation as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As we glorify the Lord today, let us contemplate upon our Creator, our Savior, our ever-present Companion. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

We worship in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit — on this Trinity Sunday and always. Amen.

We invite everyone to take a moment during the offertory to sign the Church Attendance Register. A special welcome is extended to all who are visiting with us this morning. We hope that your worship experience will be meaningful and enjoyable. If you are interested in learning more about First Presbyterian Church or becoming a member of this congregation, please speak with Pastor Lisa Ruth, the Church Office or any Elder.

The FLOWERING PLANTS this morning are given by Linda and Richard Malcolm to the glory of God. The marigold seedlings are from the seeds Linda harvested from our church flowers last fall. You are invited to take one to plant around your home reminding you of God’s love and the love of your church family.

The TRUSTEES responsible for counting today are Steve McKeegan and Art Maxwell. The Trustees responsible for counting on June 18 are Jackie Clark and Erica Cantwell.

Thoughts on Giving: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…” JOHN 3:16 Is your love conditional? Is there a price others have to pay to receive your love? Are you generous with your time, money and possessions? If you give someone something, do you expect something in return? Do you give your time freely or do you “fit it in” when it’s convenient for you? Pray for a grateful and generous heart. Stewardship Prayer: That we give our love unconditionally, especially to those who are closest to us.

The Per Capita amount for 2017 has been set at $36.60 per member.
