Assessment 2ATravel and tourism are a huge industry, for the domestic market and the international market. The presentation on travel and tourism looked at themes of climate, cultural traditions, main tourist attractions and cuisine. It was interesting to delve into the depths of each country visited. Learning how each country has so much to offer, what attracts people from all over the world to travel to immerse themselves in the country and lifestyle.

The four countries (Australia, France, Italy and United States of America) we researched as thoroughly as possible to present credible information. All information sourced on the themes showed that it met with and we are confident that it meets with Metzger, M.J. (2007). Making sense of credibility on the Web: Models for evaluating online information and recommendations for future research. Journal Of The American Society For Information Science & Technology, 58(13), 2078-2091., there were citations and dates on information, author identification, absence of advertising, presence of privacy and security policies, easy navigation, well organised sites, absence of typographical errors and broken links.

ITALY..

Page 3: Assessment 2

The climate within Italy can differ dramatically due to the lengthy shape of the country. Southern Italy experiences the more dry heat in summer and mild winters, this is due to it being closer to the equator. Northern Italy can be known for its harsh winters and cooler summers and central Italy is a blend of the two as it has less defined seasons but in certain areas such as Rome humidity can be common in the summer season (Italia, n.d).

Travel and Tourism is different but can also intertwine depending on the country you are visiting. This is evident throughout this presentation with some countries like Italy having their own unique history whereas Australia and America have adopted a variety of cultures to make their own. Only four countries were researched, each providing the reader with a snapshot of key information about what makes each stand out from the rest and what each has to offer. It was important that the information contained in the document is credible using reliable sources having accurate statistics and meeting Metzger's ways of evaluating online information such as displaying an author and having a particular date and year. This all added value to the overall presentation.
