Photos will now take place on Monday 7 th November. School Production Tickets Tickets are selling fast, so please come into the office to book your seats. Remember there are only 150 seats available at each of the 3 shows. Show times are as follows: Wednesday Evening: 7pm, doors open 6.45pm Thursday Evening: 7pm, doors open 6.45pm Friday morning: 11am, doors 10.45am Please remember that children need to be seated at each evening performance 30 mins before show time. ALL Yr 5 & Yr 6 children need to be at the performance at 6pm. Class Costumes Please send your child’s costume items to school as soon as possible. Room 1 Pastel coloured t-shirts and shorts. Room 3 White t-shirts, black pants for boys, black leggings for girls. Room 5 Costumes have already been completed. Room 4 Green long sleeve t-shirts and green long pants. Room 6 T-shirts, can be in different shades of green, purple or pink (children have been given some fabric samples to choose a colour from). Room 10 Costumes have already been completed. Room 11 Plain coloured t-shirts (blue, red, yellow, green, purple or orange) and plain coloured pants. Yellow socks (if they have them) Senior School MOTAT Trip Thanks to all the parent helpers who accompanied the senior school students to MOTAT last week. Hats for Sale School hats can be purchased from the school office for $6. Your child must wear a hat everyday at school. Children without hats will need to sit in shaded areas during break times. It was a very long day getting to see olden day fashion things and getting to work with other parents and other students. I felt adrenaline rush when I was going on the tram because it was so miraculous. I thought that there wasn't going to be any game consoles at MOTAT but to my surprise there were tons The Tram was my inspiration there because I have never been on a tram before. Jeremiah Uaisele Room 8 “Time for exploring!” Our group had some spare time, so why not explore? We explored the old village, mostly Everyone looked at the jail so we peered through a tiny window and all of a sudden... a creepy man stared at us thinking we would let him out.”AHHH!”everyone screamed. After getting freaked out we thought it would be cool to see the old school. The school had moss and rust surrounding the building. I creeped into the classroom it was so small, someone was pretending to be a very strict teacher we had our own desks. Aime Mao Room 8

School  Athletics  Our  School  Athletics  has  been  postponed  until  Tuesday  November  10th  because  the  school  fields  are  still  very  wet.    

Strategic Plan Questionnaire Our new Board of Trustees has been in office for just over a term now and they would really appreciate your thoughts on how the school is going and what you would like to see over the next 3 years.

However, if you would prefer to fill in a paper copy of the questionnaire please return the completed tear off slip at the bottom of the BoT letter and we will send home a paper version with your child tomorrow.

Questionnaires will need to be completed by Tuesday 1st November.

Remember that you could win a $100 Countdown voucher and lunch for your child’s classroom by completing the questionnaire.

Building  Projects    

New  Class  Spaces  As  you  are  aware,  the  construction  of  3  new  class  spaces  will  begin  this  term.  These  spaces  are  called  ‘Innovative  Learning  Environments’  or  ‘ILEs’  and  have  been  designed  by  the  Ministry  of  Education.  The  spaces  are  expected  to  be  completed  early  in  Term  1  2017.  Our  Year  5/6  students  will  move  into  the  building,  once  it  has  been  completed.  You  can  find  a  plan  and  photos  of  what  these  spaces  will  look  like  on  the  notice  board  in  the  foyer  of  Block  One.    There  is  also  a  tab  on  the  school  website  that  shows  you  plans,  photos  and  links  to  international  research  regarding  ILE’s.
