OPEN DAY ,BOOK FAIR and PARADE Wednesday 14

th August - The theme this year is…….

“Reading is my Superpower” This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase books for your family and at the same time support your school library. The school benefits by being credited 30% of the total sales from Scholastic to purchase

books for our library.

You are also invited to donate a book to the library….a bookplate acknowledging the donor will be placed in the front of the donated book. The books our children would like to see in the

library will be clearly displayed.

Students will have the opportunity to view the books in the library before the Book Fair on Tuesday 13

th August, and they will take home a ‘wish list’ with two or three possible titles and

their prices. This allows time at home to discuss choices and decide on purchases (Of course, purchases are not compulsory). The wish list must be returned to school, with

payment, on the day of the Book Fair if you are unable to attend but would like your child to make a purchase. Payments may be made by cash or eftpos.

This may also be a great opportunity for some Christmas shopping and what better gift to give a child than a book.

Join the fun and help encourage your child’s love of reading. Last year the school made over $2000.00 in sales. Let’s aim to make our goal this year to reach the same target.

AMMENDED DATES - Our Book Fair “Reading is my Superpower” will be open for viewing

and sales on Wednesday 14th

August between 8.30am – 9.30am; 11.30am – 12.30pm and 3pm – 4pm and Thursday 15

th August from 8.30am – 9.30am and 11.30am – 12.30pm so

you can visit as a family.

Every sale at the Book Fair will benefit Bexhill students so join us in making our Book Fair a huge success!

**Students don’t forget to dress up as your favourite book character and bring along the book your character is from.**

Enjoy the wonderful student displays in the library based on the shortlisted books in this year’s Childrens’ Book Awards.

The Book Parade will commence at 9.45 with parents and friends most welcome to join us.

To all of the staff and students at Bexhill Public School

On behalf of all of the staff and students of Tathra Public School, I would like to extend a warm

thank you to everyone at Bexhill Public School for your generous donation received following

the Tathra Bushfires last year. We were truly overwhelmed by the support received from school

communities near and far.

The community of Tathra is now recovering and rebuilding all that was lost during this tragic

event. As part of the school's process of moving forward, last year students from Years 4, 5 and

6 created a beautiful book called When the Fire Met the Sea. The book is a reflection of the

events of 18 March 2018 and the days, weeks and months following. The book has since been

published and is available for sale.

We are very grateful for the sup p or t we received from you. As a small token of our appreciation,

we enclose a copy of When the Fire Met the Sea for your school Library.

We thank you once again for your kind support.

Regards

Lisa Freedman
