The ASME UET KSK Student Chapter:

    ASME at a glance:

ASME is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration; knowledge

sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a

goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and

livelihoods. Founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, ASME has grown through

the decades to include more than 120,000 members in over 150 countries worldwide.

From college students and early-career engineers to project managers, corporate executives,

researchers and academic leaders, ASME's members are as diverse as the engineering

community itself. ASME serves this wide-ranging technical community through quality

programs in continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards,

research, conferences and publications, government relations and other forms of outreach.

    ASME UET KSK:

For a long time, since the first batch of Mechanical Engineering students of the KSK campus wasinducted in September 2007, there was a dire need for an independent Student Chapter to help

the students be a part of the Global Community of Mechanical Engineers and be represented

    distinctively.

    Finally on 10th

June, 2011, efforts made by the students of Session 2008 and Session 2009 were

successful in the birth of a new Student Chapter by the name of ASME UET KSK.

    Message by the Advisor

ASME is one of the most popular organizations for Mechanical Engineers. An individual canlearn, explore and innovate things by active participation in different events held under the

supervision of ASME round the year. It is a platform, through which one can gain technical

support in many modes like mentors, technical journals, internships, latest researches etc.

I, being the student advisor of ASME UET KSK Student Section feel proud to be a part of ASME

because we are here to polish the personality of student engineers which will help them to

behave more prominently in the professional environment afterwards. Our Student Section is

working as a team to train the students of KSK campus so that they could participate actively in

the national and international events of ASME. This will help them to enhance their approach

towards the solution of practical problems, improve time management, increase their verbal

    skills and many more.

Therefore, I cordially invite every student of KSK campus to be the part of this organization for

the welfare of Science and Technology and progress of your own.

    Thank You.

The Student Leadership Seminar is held by ASME in each of its 9 Districts, each time in a

different engineering university. The Competition is one of the most major events organized by

the ASME SDOB (Student District Operating Board) in Pakistan. After the SLS at Local Level, the

winners qualify to compete at a higher level, known as SPDC (Student Professional

Development Conference). This year, SLS was held in NFC Institute of Engineering and FertilizerResearch, Faisalabad.

SLS 2012 was the first representation of ASME UET KSK on a National Level. Students from our

chapter participated in all its modules. In Student Design Competition (SDC), Team A from UET
