The following are the menus from which we require your preference by
menu number only. 1 or 2 for both mains or desert, along with your
balance of £15 at the April meeting. If you are unable to attend this meeting
please make sure someone does this on your behalf as we need to supply
everyone's selection plus final payment by 1st May to Goosedale.

ensure there is a vacancy in that group. All relevant details can be obtained

walk they will do, or which book the reading group is reading, etc. Group

NEW CROQUET GROUP
This new group will meet every Wednesday
afternoon from 2.00pm to 4.00pm
commencing the first Wednesday in May and continuing
to October if weather conditions are suitable.
The venue will be at Selston Par 3 Golf Course, Alfreton Road, Selston,

NATIONAL TRUST VISITS GROUP
Please pay for your trip TODAY to Woolsthorpe Manor on Wed 27th April, the cost will be £13 for NT members, non members will have to also pay for their admission, approximately £12. We will leave Kirkby at 9.45am & return approx 15.45. You can
take a packed lunch if you wish, otherwise light refreshments are available to purchase.
Next visit is to the Treasurers House York on wed 22nd June, there are just 2 seats left, cost will be £15 for NT members.

BADMINTON
The Badminton Group would welcome a few more members.
We meet on Thursday afternoons from 2 – 3 at Ravenshead
Leisure Centre. We have a lot of fun. It is not necessary to
commit to every week. If you don’t have a badminton racquet we do have

No Refunds Policy Your committee have reluctantly decided that when tickets are ordered they must be paid for, unless
advised differently, and if you find you cannot attend the event you have bought the ticket for, it is up to you to sell that ticket on, and no refund will be given by U3A, unless there is a waiting list in operation. This is because some events have run at a loss due to people suddenly cancelling and expecting their money to be refunded. After all, if you book seats at the theatre, or a bus trip and found you couldn’t
attend, you would lose your money, and, regrettably, we must have a similar

WALKING GROUP C - STROLLERS 2016 WALKS
Join us on a leisurely stroll of 1½ to 2½ miles on the second Wednesday of each month and see places in the local area that perhaps you did not know existed. All walks start at 10.30 am with starting points usually within 9 miles of Kirkby town centre - postcodes (or nearest ones) are given for those with sat-navs. Refreshments available at the end of the walks. Please note that should anyone have to leave the walk, for whatever reason, then the walk leader must be informed for safety reasons.

ENJOYING SHAKESPEARE GROUP We normally meet at 2 pm on the third Thursday in the month, and our programme for the next few months is:

(See below) June 18th Outing to Macbeth at Stamford Shakespeare Theatre July 21st The Sonnets Revisited Aug 18th The Tempest Aug 27th Outing to The Tempest at Stamford Shakespeare Theatre Hamlet at the May meeting chimes with cinema broadcasts of a live performance. The workshop by Julie Collie, a West Notts College tutor, on June 16th takes place at Ashwood Centre in the morning, 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, and the fee is £7. We welcome any member of Ashfield U3A who might like to take part. There are also various events marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, which we are flagging up to the group members. ROVINJ ISTRIAN RIVIERA - LAST WEEK
MAY &1ST WEEK JUNE 2017
Join us on a fabulous 2 week break on the Istrian Riviera over
looking the stunning Adriatic sea.
Our 3* hotel is on the coast and within short walk to Rovinj or you
can use a water taxi.
I shall be looking to explore offshore islands with our own private
boat and crew (as we did in Cavtat and Olu Deniz). Also inland
villages via private minibus and guide, for those who are
interested.
Your holiday is 2 weeks half board, with private facilities and
balcony. I do not have details of which hotel at present.
The approximate cost will be in the region of £880.00 pp - I am
taking deposits of £200.00 pp, cheques to Ashfield u3a and will be
booking this at end of April 2015.
I need your cheques in and cleared by this date.
On the day of booking I will contact everyone to confirm. If at
this stage you have changed your mind, your deposit will be
returned to you in full.
I will organise UK airport transfers.
