brings art to allVanGo’s travels in 2012-13Over the 2012-13 school year, VanGo brought innovative arts programming to students at the Je"erson County Kids Club in Madras, the Cub Club afterschool program at MA Lynch Elementary in Redmond, and to “The Hub” afterschool program at the La Pine Parks and Recreation.

With funding support from the NEA, US Bank, and The Charlotte Martin Foundation, VanGo was able to reach 330 students over 9 months with sequential, curricular-based arts learning.

“Art education opportunities are very limited, if not unknown, in Je"erson County,” says Joe McHaney, Executive Director of Je"erson County Kids’ Club. “Our students loved working with VanGo. When the kids were engaged with the art classes, my sta" was also calm.”

“I like looking at it [mural] in the hall.”

“I learned how to turn a drawing into a mural.”

Administrators and teachers are busy writing grants for next year so they can have another school-wide residency.
