KEY FINDINGS AT KILVE

I found the rock formations interesting to make studies of

CHOSEN PATHWAY I will be choosing the design route.

BIRD WATCHING SHELTER BRIEF 1- The council have decided to build a bird watching shelter on Kilve beach and

they need you to design it.

The aim of this project is to design and make a prototype for a bird watching shelter which fits in with the surrounding environment of Kilve beach cliffs. The bird watching shelter will be placed on top of the cliff next to the bench. It will not be placed too close to the cliff edge as it will become a victim of erosion. The shelter has to be weather proof.

Examples of bird watching shelters:

CAFÉ BRIEF 2- The Chantry has been in ruins for years and the council and

the public want you to design and make a prototype for a café that will replace this old church.

The café that will replace the old church has to be interesting and reflect on its surroundings whether it’s Kilve beach, the houses around the café, the forest or the fields. Once it is built the cafe will gain interest and as a result will increase tourism in this area and will also be a café for the public that live around it.Examples of renovated buildings:

INFORMATION KIOSK 3- Kilve needs an information kiosk for tourist. The kiosk will be

placed at the entrance to Kilve court, you will need to design and build a prototype of the information kiosk.

The information kiosk should be a place of interest. Because the information kiosk will be placed next to Kilve court the style of the kiosk should reflect the Victorian style building. The kiosk will also be outside and will have to be weather proof.
