Unendlich by FX Pichler
I had a vision - is it stated at the FX Pichler webpage, and for sure he did.
A special cuvee...
The wine was developed from a determined wish of doing something unique and special. The name Unendlich was born the first time Franz Xavier poured the new wine for his wife and she exclaimed “ the aftertaste never seems to stop” and “Unendlich” was a fact.
The wine is produced from two special parcels around 92% Loibenberg and 8% Kellerberg. Unendlich is among the rarest Austrian Rieslings and the label is based on a famous stage design for an 1815 production of Mozart's The Magic Flute by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, which shows the full vision behind the special cuvee.
FX Pichler is one of the best producers of white wine in the world. The name Pichler is a guarantee of quality in this industry. The master, who has been in business since 1971, is considered to be a perfectionist with high standards - these are today followed and further improved by his son Lucas.
The wine itself is a tremendous elegant white wine with a lot of finesse and mineral expression. It comes with is a lot of flesh, depth and the after palate is … yes, Unendlich.
In the nose green tee, rose water and flowers dominates and the taste layers of fruits get reviled; Green apple, pear, peach, mango and the clear domination of apricot and in the aftertaste a clear marzipan and cardamom, these flavors ad to the creamy end palate. The very high alcohol of almost 15% does not in any way dominate the wine.
This is a wine out of this world and it will last for a very long time…

grande cuvée by krug
For many champagne lovers considered the best champagne house in the world.
The Grande Cuvée is a multi-vintage wine. A blend done completely in faith of the winemakers skill and that he can catch that special tone we all adore in a Grand Cuvée KRUG. The 'multi-vintage' and seriously complex palette from the extensive use of reserve wines in this cuvée, accounting typically for 35 to 50% of the final blend.
These wines are sourced from a multitude of mature vintages held in stock. All of the three main Champagne grapes can play a significant role, although Chardonnay is usually in the minority behind the two Pinots.
Thus a typical Grande Cuvée will be an assemblage of up to 50 wines from between 20 and 30 separate crus; with between 6 and 10 reserve vintages blended in. It is clearly a highly crafted wine.
As is the case with the KRUG vintage champagne, the style and quality is unquestionable. A rich straw gold hay with tiny bubbles, evident as soon as poured into the glass. They are a delight to see and the pleasure is consistent from this moment on.
On the nose we can enjoy notes of honey and toasted nut and oiled wood. All the classic Krug aromas, with great citrus freshness and notes of orange peel and lemon. A bit smoky in the end to finish of a long aftertaste. The richness is balanced by a focused freshness.
Truely a great champagne

BARCA VELHA by CASA FERREIRINHA
Rare, and clearly a wine of passion
The wine is produced in the Douro, which is mainly known for the biggest and very famous Port wines. The house is called Ferreira. The Ferreira house has a long tradition of making dry red wines in an unseen high quality. From the start they got known of being innovative in producing the wines, but not in style. The wine is what you would call old tradition wine. The style is unique and there is no score nor trend, that can change the special character of Barca Velha.
The wine is declared only in truly exceptional years.
The quest for the highest quality and excellence explains why, through a period of five decades, only a few Barca Velha harvests have been made: 1952, 1954, 1957, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1991,1995 and, the most recent, 2000.
It is important to state that in 40 years of history, Barca Velha has known only two Technical Mangers/Oenologists, which ensures the wine a consistency of style, unequalled in the market.
The wine has a bright red, deep and very intense hue. aromas resulting from ageing in noble wood-casks as well as those from maturing in the bottle are all in evidence, in great complexity.
One of its main characteristics is its body and great structure, providing it with a remarkable longevity.
