Born July 15, 1992 in Scran- ton, he is the son of Phillip P. Mazza and companion Gina Grizzanti of Greenfield Town- ship, and Kimberly Robbins of NH. Andrew was a 2011 gradu- ate of Lakeland High School and is employed by the Inter- national Union of Operating Engineers Local Union 542, Wilkes-Barre for five years where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. Andrew enjoyed snowmo- biling, skydiving, boating at the lake and performance die- sel racing. Cavalieri, 21, of Vandling, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, in an automobile accident. Born May 14, 1994, in Scranton, he is the son of Kimberly Cavalieri, Vandling, and David F. Cavalieri, Scott Twp. David was a graduate of Forest City Regional High School and attended Penn State for two years. He enjoyed playing sports, soccer, vol- leyball, and basketball. He loved snowboarding and the outdoors. He was an over- all good kid that would do anything for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Joseph “Butch” Vozel Browndale Joseph “Butch” Vozel, 90, of Browndale, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at the Forest City Nursing Center. His wife of 64 years is the former Marian Kuruts. Born March 8, 1925 in Browndale, he is the son of the late Anthony and Mary Shivitz Vozel. He was a member of Ascension Parish. He served in the Army as a Military Po- liceman and was presently a member of the American Le- gion. He was a great patriot, shown by never missing one election in 63 years. Butch and his wife, Mitz, ran Butch’s Bar for almost 60 years, where thousands of games of pin- nochle, poker, and horse and pepper were played, and all the worlds problems solved, and oh, what a place it was! Some highlights of his life are Turning Stone, Mt. Airy and Mohegan Sun, Butch’s Bowl- ing Team and Butch’s Golf Tournament, where he had a hole-in-one on number 7 at Elkview. And how could we forget Super Bowl XXV. There is nothing Butch loved more than geing to- gether with his family, country rides and going out for break- fast, no skins on the potatoes. A heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of the Forest City Nursing Center, Dr. Bekele and his of- fice, and all the prayers from family and friends. Donald Anthony Verboys Claremont, CA Donald Anthony Verboys, 88, of Claremont, CA died in his home on Friday morning, Feb. 19, 2016. He was born June 30, 1927 at the Herrick Hosp. in Susque- hanna, PA. He was the son of the late Ignatz Verboys, Austria and the late Frances(Fannie) Skodlar, Slovenia. He grew up with his 11 brothers and sisters on the “Old Farm” in Union Dale, PA. Donald joined the service at the age of 19. He served 34 years and 11 months with the USAF. He retired as a Mas- ter Sargent in 1987. He was a Flight Engineer with the 303rd Aerospace Rescue & Recovery, March AFB, CA. Donald married Beatrice Frances Linn of St. Helens, Or- egon Oct. 3, 1952. They were married 51 years and had three children, Jennie, Donna and John. He was loving and de- voted to his family. Survived by his daughter Donna Crosley, Temecula, CA, Son John Verboys, Claremont, CA, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral was held at Lada’s Chapel in Upland, CA on Sat. Feb 27. Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Mon., March 7 at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA . Lavona Angelover Carbondale Lavona Angelover, 94, of Carbondale, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at home. Her husband, James Angelover, died in December 1999. Born in Carbondale, daugh- ter of the late Fred and Verna Reynolds Jones, she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbon- dale, class of 1939. At one time, she was employed at various hotels in the Catskill Moun- tains. Born in Archbald, daugh- ter of the late Robert and Alice Beam McConnell, she was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Archbald, and aended Blakely schools. The family would like to extend sincere thanks and God’s blessing to the staff at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center who took ex- cellent care of our mom and showed her love and respect. David M. Cavalieri, 21, of Vandling, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, in an automobile accident.

Donald Anthony Verboys, 88, of Claremont, CA died in his home on Friday morning, Feb. 19, 2016.

Donald joined the service at the age of 19. He served 34 years and 11 months with the USAF. He retired as a Mas-ter Sargent in 1987. He was a Flight Engineer with the 303rd Aerospace Rescue & Recovery, March AFB, CA.

Donald married Beatrice Frances Linn of St. Helens, Or-egon Oct. 3, 1952. They were married 51 years and had three children, Jennie, Donna and John. He was loving and de-voted to his family.

Survived by his daughter Donna Crosley, Temecula, CA, Son John Verboys, Claremont, CA, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was held at Lada’s Chapel in Upland, CA on Sat. Feb 27. Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Mon., March 7 at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA .

Lavona Angelover

Carbondale

Lavona Angelover, 94, of Carbondale, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at home. Her husband, James Angelover, died in December 1999.

Born in Carbondale, daugh-ter of the late Fred and Verna Reynolds Jones, she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbon-dale, class of 1939. At one time, she was employed at various hotels in the Catskill Moun-tains. Before retirement, she was employed by the North-Eastern Pennsylvania Tele-phone Co., Forest City.

Surviving are a sister, Wan-da R. Wursinger, Carbondale; a nephew, Robert Jones; and several cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred Jones, who died in 2008.

The funeral was Monday, February 22 with services in Trinity Episcopal Church, Riv-er Street, Carbondale. Spring interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart.

Genevieve H. Deeke

Peckville

Genevieve H. Deecke, 92, of Peckville, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center. She was the wife of Henry E. Deecke Sr., who died Jan. 11, and they had been married for 74 years.

Born in Archbald, daugh-ter of the late Robert and Alice Beam McConnell, she was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Archbald, and attended Blakely schools. The family would like to extend sincere thanks and God’s blessing to the staff at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center who took ex-cellent care of our mom and showed her love and respect. They have become like family to us. Also, a heartfelt thanks to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kindness and support in our time of need. Special thanks to our life-time friend, Delia Esgro, for her caring, by helping take care of mom’s personal needs while she was still at home. And also to Jane Tomkavage for helping with mom at her doctor appointments.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Alice Coulthard, Arch-bald; a son, Henry E. Deecke Jr. and wife, Kathryn, Car-bondale; two sisters, Gladys Touch, Archbald; and Joan Scott, Lancaster; 10 grand-children, Charlene Deecke, Christine Kovaleski, Tammy Rohan, Eugene Bush, Hen-ry Deecke III, April Krzak, Janine Christian, Brian Coulthard, Randy Coulthard and Amanda Deecke; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, David, Charles, Eugene, Albert and baby brother, Robert Mc-Connell; a sister, Romayne Deecki; and an infant great-grandson, Robert Kovaleski.

The funeral will be Wednesday with services at 11 a.m. in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Archbald. Interment will be in Archbald Cemetery. There will be no public call-ing hours. Anyone attending the services on Wednesday is asked to go directly to the church.
